THE FOCUS OF MERAKEY PENNSYLVANIA IN FY 2022 WAS MAINTAINING THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF THE INDIVIDUALS SERVED WHILE DELIVERING SERVICES VIA A COMBINATION OF IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL DELIVERY AS WE BEGAN TO EMERGE FROM THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC. COMMUNITY AND CLINIC-BASED PROGRAMS ADAPTED TO HYBRID SERVICE DELIVERY AND CONNECTED INDIVIDUALS WITH INCREASING NEEDS TO COMMUNITY AND OTHER RESOURCES. THE INCREASED NEED FOR SERVICES LED TO AN EXPANSION OF ASSERTIVE COMMUNITY TREATMENT TEAMS TO NEW GEOGRAPHIES IN PENNSYLVANIA. SCHOOLS AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS OPERATED BY MERAKEY PENNSYLVANIA PROVIDED VIRTUAL INSTRUCTION FOR HIGH-NEEDS STUDENTS AND DEVELOPED AND IMPLEMENTED RE-ENTRY PLANS THAT MET THE NEEDS OF STUDENTS WHILE PROTECTING THEIR HEALTH AND THAT OF THE COMMUNITY. IN-PERSON EDUCATION SUCCESSFULLY RESUMED IN MANY AREAS WITH GREAT EXCITEMENT.RESIDENTIAL SITES FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AND INDIVIDUALS WITH BEHAVIORAL HEALTH NEEDS PRIORITIZED THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF RESIDENTS. IN PLACES WHERE PROGRAMMING WAS AFFECTED DUE TO DISTANCING REQUIREMENTS, THE PROGRAMS ADOPTED TECHNOLOGY TO ENSURE THAT THE RESIDENTS REMAINED CONNECTED VIA A HYBRID OF VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON INTERACTIONS WITH THEIR FAMILIES, SUPPORT NETWORKS, AND COMMUNITIES. GUIDING MERAKEY ARE THE FOLLOWING:OUR PURPOSE: PUTTING OUR HEART AND SOUL INTO EXCEPTIONAL CARE.OUR VISION: TO BE A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED PROVIDER OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES.OUR CORE VALUES: COMPASSION, DIVERSITY, INTEGRITY, SAFETY, TRUST, AND QUALITYMERAKEY PARKSIDE RECOVERY IN PHILADELPHIA, PA WAS RE-ACCREDITED BY COUNCIL ON ACCREDITATION. MERAKEY PARKSIDE RECOVERY IS COMMITTED TO CARING FOR THOSE IN RECOVERY THROUGH INNOVATIVE PROGRAMMING AND SERVICES. TO REFLECT THIS COMMITMENT, MERAKEY PARKSIDE RECOVERY WAS APPROVED AGAIN BY THE COUNCIL ON ACCREDITATION (COA) THROUGH DECEMBER 2024. THIS SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENT REPRESENTS THE FULFILLMENT OF COUNTLESS HOURS OF HARD WORK AND THE DEDICATION OF MANY STAFF AND LEADERSHIP TO ENSURE THAT PARKSIDE RECOVERY IS ONCE AGAIN COA ACCREDITED. THE COA ACCREDITATION PROCESS HAS CREATED A FRAMEWORK FOR MERAKEY PARKSIDE RECOVERY TO USE TO CONTINUE TO IMPROVE THE SERVICES PROVIDED TO INDIVIDUALS SERVED.MERAKEY ALSO BECAME ACCREDITED BY PRAESIDIUM IN FY22, THE NATIONAL LEADER IN ABUSE RISK MANAGEMENT. THIS YEAR-PLUS LONG ACCREDITATION PROCESS INVOLVED EVALUATION OF ALL AREAS OF OPERATIONS INCLUDING POLICIES, SCREENING, AND HIRING, TRAINING, SUPERVISION AND MONITORING, ADMINISTRATIVE POLICIES, AND CONSUMER PARTICIPATION. ACCREDITATION FROM PRAESIDIUM DEMONSTRATES OUR COMMITMENT TO PROVIDING THE HIGHEST QUALITY SERVICES AND A ZERO-TOLERANCE ENVIRONMENT FOR ABUSE OF ANY KIND FOR THOSE WITHIN OUR CARE. MERAKEY'S EXTENDED ACUTE CARE PROGRAMS IN LEHIGH COUNTY, PA ARE CERTIFIED IN THE SANCTUARY MODEL WHICH PROMOTES SAFETY AND RECOVERY FROM ADVERSITY. THE SANCTUARY MODEL IS BASED ON THE RECOGNITION THAT TRAUMA IS PERVASIVE IN THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE AND SEEKS TO RELIEVE TRAUMA FOR PEOPLE WHO SEEK TREATMENT AND ALSO THE PEOPLE AND SYSTEMS WHO PROVIDE THAT TREATMENT. THE COMMISSION ON ACCREDITATION OF REHABILITATION FACILITIES (CARF) HELPS SERVICE PROVIDERS IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THEIR SERVICES AND MEET INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED STANDARDS. MERAKEY'S COMMUNITY HOUSING PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS WITH AUTISM ARE CARF ACCREDITED AND ARE RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR COMMITMENT TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE SERVED.MERAKEY IS PROUD TO HAVE OUR DUAL DIAGNOSIS TREATMENT TEAMS (DDTT) ACCREDITED BY NADD. THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES AND MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS (NADD) WAS DEVELOPED TO IMPROVE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SERVICES PROVIDED TO INDIVIDUALS WITH A DUAL DIAGNOSIS.
