THE WAYNE COUNTY YMCA'S FOCUS IS ON NURTURING LEADERSHIP IN OUR YOUTH AND TEENS. OUR SUMMER DAY CAMP PROGRAMS AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS PROVIDE GREAT AVENUES FOR THIS. THE EXPERIENCES PROVIDED IN THESE PROGRAMS HELP DEVELOP THE POTENTIAL FOR PARTICIPANTS IN THEIR SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT AS WELL AS THEIR EMOTIONAL GROWTH.
THE WAYNE COUNTY YMCA'S ATTENTION TO HEALTHY LIVING CARRIES THROUGH OUR PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES. BY PROVIDING POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS THAT HELP TO SUPPORT AND GUIDE OUR PARTICIPANTS WE ENABLE THEM TO BE MORE FUNCTIONALLY FIT AND ACTIVE IN THEIR LIVES. WE TEACH THEM THE SKILLS THEY NEED TO HELP COMBAT THE OBESITY CRISIS AND TO HELP BALANCE THEIR HECTIC LIVES. IN 2020 WE PROVIDED OVER $28,020 OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR MEMBERSHIPS TO HELP OVERCOME THE ECONOMIC BARRIERS TO PARTICIPATION.
THE WAYNE COUNTY YMCA HELPS OUR MEMBERS, PARTICIPANTS, AND VOLUNTEERS BY ENGAGING THEM IN PROGRAMS THAT BUILD SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. WE PARTNER WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO GIVE OUR COMMUNITY THE BEST INFORMATION POSSIBLE TO HELP THEM TO BE BETTER EDUCATED AND AWARE OF THE NEEDS AND SERVICES IN OUR COMMUNITY. BY EMPOWERING OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS WE ARE BUILDING A STRONGER FOUNDATION FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS IN OUR COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE.
MEMBERSHIP ALLOWS PARTICIPATION IN ALL THE EXEMPT FUNCTION PROGRAMS PERFORMED BY THE YMCA.
