THE KIDNEY FOUNDATION OF CENTRAL PA IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE EDUCATION AND OUTREACH, SUPPORT SERVICES TO PEOPLE WHOSE LIVES ARE IMPACTED BY KIDNEY DISEASE, AND ADVOCATING FOR MORE LIVING ORGAN DONATION IN ORDER TO REDUCE THE WAIT FOR A LIFE-SAVING KIDNEY TRANSPLANT.

PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATION - THE KIDNEY FOUNDATION OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA HOSTED OR PARTICIPATED IN NUMEROUS COMMUNITY-BASED HEALTH EDUCATION EVENTS, FREE CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE SCREENINGS, AND EMPLOYEE WELLNESS PROGRAMS WHICH REACHED APPROXIMATELY 3,500 INDIVIDUALS LIVING IN THE REGION WE SERVE. KFCP IS THE ONLY AGENCY IN OUR REGION PROVDING FREE PUBLIC EDUCATION ABOUT CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE.
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING - THE ANNUAL UPDATE ON CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE IS PRESENTED IN CONJUNCTION WITH PENN STATE HERSHEY MEDICAL CENTER'S CONTINUING EDUCATION DEPARTMENT. DUE TO COVID-19, THE UPDATE WAS POSTPONED TO A FUTURE DATE. IT WILL BE HELD IN HERSHEY, PENNSYLVANIA IN AUGUST 2022.
PATIENT SERVICES - THE PATIENT EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FUND IS THE ONLY PROGRAM IN THE STATE WHICH PROVIDES CASH ASSISTANCE TO PATIENTS EXPERIENCING TEMPORARY FINANCIAL CRISIS. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, OVER 350 PATIENTS RECEIVED HELP PAYING FOR MEDICATION CO-PAYS, FOOD, OR UTILITY BILLS. THE PATIENT AND FAMILY PARTNER PROGRAM TRAINS AND CERTIFIES MEDICALLY STABLE INDIVIDUALS AND PAIRS THEM WITH PATIENTS OR CAREGIVERS NEEDING EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AS THEY DEAL WITH THEIR KIDNEY DISEASE.
