DEDICATED TO PROVIDING CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE EDUCATION AND OUTREACH, SUPPORT SERVICES TO PEOPLE WHOSE LIVES ARE IMPACTED BY KIDNEY DISEASE, AND ADVOCATING FOR MORE LIVING ORGAN DONATIONS IN ORDER TO REDUCE THE WAIT FOR A LIFE-SAVING KIDNEY TRANSPLANT.

Part 3 - Line 4a

PATIENT SERVICES - THE PATIENT EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FUND IS THE ONLY PROGRAM IN PENNSYLVANIA WHICH PROVIDES CASH ASSISTANCE TO PATIENTS EXPERIENCEING TEMPORARY FINANCIAL CRISIS. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, OVER 350 PATIENTS RECEVIED HELP PAYING FROM MEDICATION CO-PAYS, FOOD, OR UTILITY BILLS. THE PAITENT AND FAMILY PARTNER PROGRAM TRAINS AND CERTIFIES MEDICALLY STABLE INDIVIDUALS AND PAIRS THEM WITH PATIENTS OR CAREGIVERS NEEDING EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AS THEY DEAL WITH THEIR KIDNEY DISEASE.


PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATION - THE KIDNEY FOUNDAITON OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA, HOSTED OR PARTICIPATE IN NUMEROUS COMMUNITY-BASED HEALTH EDUCATION EVENTS, FREE CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE SCREENINGS, AND EMPLOYEE WELLNESS PROGRAMS, WHICH REACHED APPROXIMATELY 3,500 INDIVIDUALS LIVING IN THE 29 COUNTY SERIVICE REGION. KFCP IS THE ONLY AGENCY IN OUR REGION PROVIDING FREE PUBLIC EDUCATION ABOUT KIDNEY DISEASE.


PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING - THE ANNUAL UPDATE ON CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE WAS RESCHEDULED FROM APRIL 22 TO SEPTEMBER 22.
