PROGRAMS OFFERED TO THE MEMBERS INCLUDED IN PERSON AND REMOTE CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION SEMINARS AT NO OR REDUCED COST, LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE, CLIENT DISPUTE RESOLUTION, A BENCH-BAR CONFERENCE ALLOWING FOR DIALOGUE BETWEEN JUDGES AND ATTORNEYS, BERKS COUNTY LAW JOURNAL, SOCIAL EVENTS TO ENCOURAGE COLLEGIALITY AND NETWORKING, PRO BONO SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES, PROVIDING PERTINENT INFORMATION TO MEMBERS VIA THE ASSOCIATION'S WEBSITE, ON TAP WEEKLY E-MAIL BLAST, TWITTER, FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM AND BERKS BARRISTER, ADVOCACY WITH PUBLIC OFFICIALS AND WITH THE PUBLIC THROUGH LOCAL MEDIA AND PAID MEDIA. SEE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON SCHEDULE O. PROGRAMS FOR THE PUBLIC INCLUDE, COORDINATING THE COUNTY MOCK TRIAL COMPETITION AND LAW DAY LUNCHEON PROGRAM INCLUDING A MULTIMEDIA COMPETITION FOR 5TH, 6TH, 7TH AND 8TH GRADERS. IN ADDITION, THE BAR ASSOCIATION OFFERED A COURT INTERPRETER TRAINING PROGRAM TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CERTIFIED AND QUALIFIED INTERPRETERS AVAILABLE TO THE BERKS COUNTY COURT OF COMMON PLEAS AND MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT COURTS. THE BAR ASSOCIATION ALSO HAS ENCOURAGED MEMBERS TO PROVIDE PRO BONO SERVICE ASSISTANCE WITH INDIVIDUALS APPLYING TO RENEW THEIR DEFERRED ACTION ON CHILDHOOD ARRIVAL (DACA) STATUS, INDIVIDUALS APPLYING FOR PARDONS FROM THE PENNSYLVANIA BOARD OF PARDONS, A WILLS FOR HEROES PROGRAM OFFERING FREE ESTATE PLANNING SERVICES TO VETERANS, FIREFIGHTERS, POLICE AND OTHER FIRST RESPONDERS, AND AN EVICTION PREVENTION PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY MIDPENN LEGAL SERVICES. PRO BONO REPRESENTATION IS AVAILABLE FOR THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO QUALIFY. FOR THOSE WHOSE INCOME IS LESS THAN 200% OF FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINES, BUT GREATER THAN 125%, MODEST MEANS REPRESENTATION IS AVAILABLE IN SIX AREAS OF LAW.SERVED MORE THAN 520 ACTIVE MEMBERS AND COUNTLESS BERKS COUNTY RESIDENTS RECEIVED LEGAL ASSISTANCE BECAUSE OF OUR EFFORTS.
