THE BOARD ANNUALLY APPROVES PAYMENT TO JENKINS LAW LIBRARY IN PHILADELPHIA, PA TO PROVIDE ON-LINE LIBRARY SERVICES TO ATTORNEYS, WHO PRACTICE LAW IN THE CITY OF CHESTER, PA. THIS PROGRAM IS ADMINISTERED BY THE DELAWARE COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION. BECAUSE OF COVID, NO PAYMENT WAS MADE IN 2020; HOWEVER, A PAYMENT OF 1,435 WAS MADE IN EARLY 2021. IN ADDITION, A SECOND PAYMENT OF 1,435 WAS MADE AT THE END OF 2021.
DURING THE YEAR, THE BOARD APPROVED THE FOLLOWING GRANTS: 5,000 TO THE DELAWARE COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION TO CONTINUE THE GEORGE B. LINDSAY MEMORIAL CLE/CJE SEMINAR SERIES, 12 FREE ONE HOUR CLE/CJE COURSES BY THE DELAWARE COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION FOR ITS MEMBERS; 10,000 TO THE DELAWARE COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION FOR ITS BENCH BAR CONFERENCE TO PAY THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER'S FEE AND EXPENSES AND TO PAY OTHER EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONFERENCE; 5,000 TO THE DELAWARE COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION TO HELP PAY FOR A NEW WEBSITE, WHICH HAS A MORE ROBUST DATABASE SYSTEM AND USER-FRIENDLY FRONT END WEBSITE.
THE BOARD APPROVED A GRANT OF 10,000 TO SUPPORT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, WHICH THE DELAWARE COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION OPERATES THROUGH THE E. WALLACE CHADWICK MEMMORIAL FUND OF THE ASSOCIATION. THE BOARD ALSO APPROVED THE ANNUAL PAYMENT OF 1,000 TO WIDENER UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW FOR 2 PRIZES.
