MENTAL HEALTH- EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR PEDIATRIC PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS AND PEDIATRIC SPECIALISTS PARTICIPATING IN NJ'S REGIONAL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH HUBS TO ENSURE APPROPRIATE SCREENING, ASSESSMENT, DIAGNOSIS, AND TREATMENT OF CHILDREN PRESENTING IN PEDIATRIC SETTINGS WITH MENTAL/BEHAVIORAL HEALTH DISORDERS. EDUCATIONAL OFFERINGS INCLUDE MONTHLY CME WEBINAR SERIES ON VARIED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TOPICS AND A TWO-TIERED VIRTUAL LEARNING COLLABORATIVE FOR COMMUNITY PEDIATRICIANS AND PEDIATRIC SPECIALISTS TO INCREASE COMFORT WITH SCREENING, REFERRAL AND CARE COORDINATION BY THE PEDIATRIC PRACTICE TEAM.
PEDIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH CARE (HRSA) - ENHANCE AND SUPPLEMENT NJ'S REGIONAL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH HUBS TO INCLUDE TELEHEALTH AND TELE-PSYCHIATRY BY INCREASING AVAILABILITY/ACCESS TO BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES VIA TELEHEALTH, PROVIDING TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO PEDIATRIC PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS ON THE USE OF EVIDENCE-BASED, CULTURALLY-APPROPRIATE TELEHEALTH PROTOCOLS, PROVIDING WEB-BASED EDUCATION AND TRAINING SESSIONS TO PEDIATRIC PROVIDERS TO SUPPORT EARLY DETECTION, ASSESSMENT, TREATMENT, AND REFERRAL FOR MENTAL/BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CONCERNS, AND IMPROVING ACCESS TO TREATMENT AND REFERRAL SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS VIA TELEHEALTH. DEVELOPMENT OF PATIENT AND PROVIDER EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS AND PLANNING FOR WEBSITE WITH RESOURCES FOR PEDIATRIC PROVIDERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
NJ INTEGRATED CARE FOR KIDS (INCK) - THIS INITIATIVE IS FUNDED BY HACKENSACK MERIDIAN HEALTH (HMH) (VIA A COLLABORATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE CENTERS FOR MEDICAID AND MEDICARE INNOVATION). THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS TO KEEP CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS FROM BEING PLACED IN OUT-OF-HOME CARE. THE INITIATIVE ALSO TESTS ALTERNATIVE PAYMENT MODELS SUPPORTING MULTI-SECTORAL INTEGRATED CASE MANAGEMENT AND PEDIATRIC PRACTICE CAPACITY BUILDING IN MONMOUTH AND OCEAN COUNTIES. NJAAP IS AN INTEGRAL PARTNER AND COORDINATES WITH ALL LEAD TEAM MEMBERS INCLUDING HMH, NJ HEALTHCARE QUALITY INSTITUTE, AND THE VISITING NURSES ASSOCIATION OF CENTRAL JERSEY. IN 2021, WE LED EDUCATIONAL WEBINARS FOR PROVIDERS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS IN MONMOUTH AND OCEAN COUNTIES. WE ALSO WORKED WITH HEALTH + STUDIO TO DEVELOP A COMPREHENSIVE WEBSITE FOR NJ INCK THAT INCLUDES A SPACE FOR PROVIDERS, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AND FAMILY MEMBERS. FINALLY, WE ENGAGED PROVIDERS TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF NJ INCK FOR THEIR PRACTICE TEAMS.
