GRANTS PROVIDED TO THE DISTRICT FOR TRAINING TEACHERS IN THE ORTON-GILLINGHAM LANGUAGE PROGRAM. TWELVE TEACHERS ARE PARTICIPATING IN THIS 2-YEAR TRAINING PROGRAM. THIS TRAINING TEACHES AN IMPORTANT METHOD FOR ENHANCING READING INSTRUCTION. COSTS INCLUDE TUITION FOR THE 12 TEACHERS ($63,648) AND BOOKS ($3,027).
SPONSORSHIP OF THE VIRTUAL HIGH SCHOOL. THIS GRANT ALLOWED PURCHASE OF SEATS FOR ONLINE CLASSES FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTSW. IT IS USED FOR CLASSES NOT AVAILABLE IN THE DISTRICT, IONCLUDING SOME AP CLASSES.
