THE GARDINER LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES OPERATES THE PUBLIC LIBRARY THAT SERVES THE TOWN OF GARDINER AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS OF NEW YORK STATE.

THE GARDINER LIBRARY PROVIDES FREE LIBRARY SERVICES TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE TOWN OF GARDINER AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS. IT SERVICES APPROXIMATELY 3,000 PEOPLE. AS STATED IN ITS MISSION STATEMENT THE LIBRARYS PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE MATERIALS AND SERVICES TO MEET THE EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL AND SOCIAL NEEDS OF OUR GROWING COMMUNITY. THE LIBRARY FACILITATES PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL ENRICHMENT, INTERNET ACCESS AND PROVIDES A CENTER FOR COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES. THE GARDINER LIBRARY RECOGNIZES ITS RESPONSIBILITY TO ENCOURAGE THE LOVE OF READING IN GARDINERS CHILDREN, AND BY SO DOING, HELP FOSTER THEIR DEVELOPMENT INTO LITERATE, INFORMED CITIZENS. IT ACCOMPLISHES THESE PROGRAM SERVICES BY PURCHASING BOOKS, MAGAZINES, NEWSPAPERS, AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDINGS, AND PROVIDING COMPUTER TERMINALS.
