PTA IS A POWERFUL VOICE FOR ALL CHILDREN, A RELEVANT RESOURCE FOR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES, AND A STRONG ADVOCATE FOR THE EDUCATION AND WELL-BEING OF EVERY CHILD.

ARTS & EDUCATION - THIS PROGRAM INVOLVES WORKSHOPS, VISITING AUTHORS, AND OTHER PROFESSIONALLY-RUN PROGRAMS PROVIDED BY OUTSIDE VENDORS. THIS YEAR THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE PROGRAM WAS A VISIT TO THE SCHOOL BY AN INTERNATIONALLY-RENOWNED AFRICAN DRUM AND DANCE TROUPE FROM GHANA. EACH GRADE OF STUDENTS (K-5) PARTICIPATED IN AN ASSEMBLY DURING THE SCHOOL DAY, DURING WHICH THEY LEARNED TO DRUM AND DANCE, THEN IN THE EVENING ALL STUDENTS AND FAMILIES WERE INVITED TO AN INTERACTIVE PERFORMANCE.
AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT - THE PTA OFFERS A VARIETY OF AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT CLUBS TO STUDENTS ON TWO AFTERNOONS A WEEK FOR FOUR WEEKS EACH SCHOOL YEAR. THIS YEAR'S CLUBS INCLUDED: AFRICAN DRUMMING, ARTS AND GLASS, CHEERLEADING, CRAFTY CREATION, CRIME LAB SCIENCE, CUPCAKES, FOOD FOR THOUGHT, FUN WITH FOOD, JEWELRY MAKING, JUDO, KNITTING, LEGO CLUBS, SPEED STACKING, STEM/NANO, STEM SAMPLER, TAE KWON DO, AND VOLLEYBALL.
SCHOOL SPIRIT WEAR - EVERY OTHER YEAR, THE PTA MAKES SCHOOL SPIRIT WEAR AVAILABLE FOR FAMILIES TO PURCAHSE. THIS YEAR GOODS FEAUTRING BOTH THE STEVENS SUPERSTARS AND BHBL SPARTANS LOGOS WERE MADE AVAILABLE. INCLUDING T-SHIRTS, HOODIES, TECH SHIRTS,WATER BOTTLES, HATS, DRAWSTRING BAGS, AND MORE. THIS ALLOWS STUDENTS TO SHOW THE SCHOOL SPIRIT BY WEARING AND USING THESE ITEMS.
OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDE PROGRAMS RELATED TO THE EDUCATION AND WELL-BEING OF EVERY CHILD.
