PROMOTION OF HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF THE COMMUNITY, PREVENTION OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE, ADDICTION, VIOLENCE AND RELATED ISSUES, HEIGHTENED AWARENESS, ADVOCACY, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, SERVICES, INFORMATION AND REFERRALS.

THE OPIOD OVERDOSE PREVENTION PROGRAM PROVIDES EDUCTION TO ENABLE PARTICIPANTS TO RECOGNIZE AN OPIOD OVERDOSE AND BE EQUIPPED TO PROVIDE LIFE-SAVING RESCUE MEASURERS TO REVERSE THE EFFECTS OF THE OVERDOSE. FUNDED OPIOD OVERDOSE PREVENTION PROGRAMS PROVIDE INDIVIDUALS AT-RISK FOR OVERDOSE, THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS, AND LOVED ONES WITH NALOXONE RESCUE KITS AND EDUCATE AND TRAIN THEM ON HOW TO PREVENT, RECOGNIZE AND RESPOND TO AN OPIOD OVERDOSE. ADDITIONALLY ORGANIZATIONS HAVE ESTABLISHED A PROCEDURE TO MAKE NAXOXONE AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO ARE EITHER AT- RISK OR HAVE LOVED ONES AT RISK OF AN OPIOD OVERDOSE.

A COUNTY-WIDE COALITION MADE UP OF AN ASSOCIATION OF INDDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS THAT COLLABORATE IN THE DELIVERY OF ENVIORMENTAL STRATEGIES TO PREVENT AND REDUCE THE HARMFUL EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUGS IN MORRIS COUNTY. THE COALITION'S MISSION IS TO PREVENT AND REDUCE SUBSTANCE ABUSE THROUGHOUT THE LIFESPAN IN MORRIS COUNTY THROUGH COLLABORATION, EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY-WIDE CHANGE, GIVING PRIORITY TO YOUTH UNDER THE AGE OF 18 AND YOUNG ADULTS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18-25. ITS GOALS ARE TO STENGTHEN COLLABORATION AMONG THE MORRIS COUNTY PREVENTION INFRASTRUCTURE AND TO INCREASE CITIZEN PARTICIPATION AND COMMITMENT AMOUNG ALL SECTORS OF THE REGION TOWARDS REDUCING SUBSTANCE USE AND ABUSE IN MORRIS COUNTY.


PROVIDE SCIENCE-BASED PREVENTION EDUCATION PROGRAMS, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING, ADVOCACY, INFORMATION AND REFFERAL SERVICES, AND MAINTAIN THE COUNTY'S MOST EXTENSIVE RESOURCE CENTER WITH UP-TO-DATE MATERIALS THAT ADDRESS ISSUES OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE, VIOLENCE, ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND OTHER DRUG DEPENDENCE AND EMRGING ISSUES OF CONCERN TO THE MORRIS COUNTY COMMUNITY.
