IN AN EFFORT TO PROVIDE QUALITY, PERSON-CENTERED CARE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF OUR RESIDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES, WE ENSURE OUR RESIDENTS A HOME-LIKE ENVIRONMENT SO THEY EXPERIENCE COMFORT AND PRIVACY. INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT SERVICES ARE OFFERED TO THE RESIDENTS OF HERKIMER AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.

SKILLED NURSING, LONG-TERM CARE SHORT-TERM INPATIENT AND REHABILITATION AND SUB-ACUTE CARE O PHYSICAL THERAPY O OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY O SPEECH THERAPY O WOUND CARE O IV THERAPY OUTPATIENT REHABILITATION O PHYSICAL THERAPY O OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY O CARDIAC REHABILITATION O SPEECH THERAPY O OSTEOPOROSIS MANAGEMENT THE18-SLOT OFFSITE MEDICAL MODEL ADULT DAY CARE PROGRAM IN LITTLE FALLS HAS RESUMED SERVICE FOLLOWING THE CLOSING OF SERVICES AT THE PEAK OF COVID-19. THE 12-SLOT ONSITE ADULT DAY CARE MEDICAL MODEL SITE IS HOPING TO RESUME SERVICES AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE. SPEECH THERAPY, IV THERAPY, CARDIAC REHABILITATION, PALLIATIVE CARE AND OSTEOPOROSIS MANAGEMENT ARE UNIQUE SERVICES TO THE GREATER HERKIMER AREA AVAILABLE AT VHS, INC. APPROXIMATELY 59% OF VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES REVENUE IS DERIVED FROM MEDICAID. AS SUCH, VHS, INC., INCURS AN APPROXIMATE SHORTFALL OF $65 PER PATIENT DAY REIMBURSED BY THE NYS MEDICAID SYSTEM. AN IN-HOUSE "NEEDY RESIDENT" FUND PROVIDES MONEY FOR INCIDENTAL ITEMS DESIRED BY RESIDENTS. VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES' HUMAN RESOURCES STAFF AND THE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY LIFE PARTICIPATED IN CAREER FAIRS WITH HERKIMER COUNTY WORKING SOLUTIONS, HERKIMER COLLEGE AND THE LPN PROGRAM AT HERKIMER COUNTY BOCES. THE DEPARTMENTS OF REHABILITATION THERAPY AND SOCIAL SERVICES PROVIDED CLINICAL SUPERVISION TO COLLEGE INTERNS VHS' ADMINISTRATOR, BRYAN EHLINGER, HAS BEEN EMPLOYED IN THE HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY FOR DECADES AND ACROSS A SPECTRUM OF SERVICES. EHLINGER HAS SERVED AS A LTC ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE PAST 22 YEARS. EHLINGER WAS A FORMER SECRETARY FOR THE NEW YORK ASSOCIATION OF LONG TERM CARE ADMINISTRATORS (NYALTCA) AND IS WELL VERSED IN HEALTHCARE OPERATIONS. IN ADDITION, PRESIDENT, LISA BETRUS, SERVES ON THE FOLLOWING NONPROFIT BOARDS: O AT HOME CARE, INC.O THE STANLEY THEATER O MOHAWK VALLEY REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL O WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD OF HERKIMER, MADISON AND ONEIDA COUNTIES VHS SERVES AS A CLINICAL ROTATION SITE FOR THE HERKIMER BOCES LPN AND CNA CLASSES. ADDITIONALLY, VHS OPERATES ITS OWN CNA CLASS. VHS' STAFF ALSO WORKS WITH RESIDENTS, RESIDENTS' FAMILY MEMBERS AND OUTPATIENTS AS REQUESTED TO ADDRESS ELIGIBILITY FOR FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL ASSISTANCE FOR ISSUES INVOLVING PATIENT CARE.
