VETERINARY TECHNICIAN NATIONAL EXAMINATION (VTNE) - THE VTNE PROGRAM PROVIDES EXAMINATION SERVICES TO STATE/PROVINCIAL REGULATORY BOARDS CHARGED WITH CREDENTIALING VETERINARY TECHNICIANS. THE EXAM ASSISTS REGULATORY BOARDS IN THEIR MISSION OF PROTECTING THE PUBLIC BY ENSURING THAT VETERINARY TECHNICIANS DEMONSTRATE A SPECIFIED LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS, ASSESSES THE PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCY OF VETERINARY TECHNICIANS IN TERMS OF THEIR QUALIFICATIONS TO ENTER PRACTICE, AND PROVIDES A COMMON STANDARD IN THE EVALUATION OF CANDIDATES THAT IS COMPARABLE FROM JURISDICTION TO JURISDICTION. APPROXIMATELY 10,000 CANDIDATES WERE TESTED IN 2023. IN ADDITION, OVER 5,400 CANDIDATES COMPLETED ONLINE PRACTICE TESTS IN 2023.
REGISTRY OF APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION (RACE) - THE RACE PROGRAM EVALUATES AND APPROVES PROVIDERS AND PROGRAMS OF CONTINUING EDUCATION IN VETERINARY MEDICINE AGAINST UNIFORM STANDARDS. IN 2023, THE RACE PROGRAM APPROVED OVER 7,000 PROGRAMS. THE PROGRAM IS OFFERED AS A SERVICE TO THE PARTICIPATING MEMBER BOARDS TO ASSIST THEM IN FULFILLING THEIR STATUTORY PUBLIC AND ETHICAL OBLIGATIONS IN LEGAL STATUTORY PUBLIC AND ETHICAL OBLIGATIONS IN LEGAL REGULATION AND ENFORCEMENT.
