THE MISSION OF THE MPL ASSOCIATION IS TO EDUCATE, CONNECT, PROMOTE, AND PROTECT THE GLOBAL MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY COMMUNITY.

MEETINGS & EDUCATION-THE MPL ASSOCIATION PROVIDES ITS MEMBERS WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF KNOWLEDGE-SHARING OPPORTUNITIES AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION FOCUSED ON THE MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE INDUSTRY. IN 2021, THE ASSOCIATION, IN ORDER TO ACCOMMODATE MEMBER SAFETY AND COMPLY WITH RESTRICTIONS DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, SHIFTED ITS EVENTS, MEETINGS, AND WORKSHOPS ONLINE. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDED THE ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY CONFERENCE AS WELL AS 7 EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS FOCUSED ON SPECIFIC ASPECTS OF MPL MEMBERSHIP, INCLUDING MARKETING, DENTAL, CLAIMS, RISK MANAGEMENT, GOVERNANCE, FINANCE, UNDERWRITING, AND OTHER GENERAL MPL INSURANCE BUSINESS OPERATIONS. ONE EVENT, FOR CORPORATE COUNSEL PROFESSIONALS WAS HELD IN PERSON. IN ADDITION, THE ASSOCIATION DRAMATICALLY INCREASED ITS ONLINE OFFERINGS BY EXPANDING THE NUMBER OF WEBINARS AND VIRTUAL MEETINGS OF SPECIAL SEGMENTS OF THE MEMBERSHIP TO FACILITATE THE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS AND INFORMATION.
PUBLIC POLICY - THE MPL ASSOCIATION IS AN ADVOCATE FOR FEDERAL MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY REFORMS, AND SPEAKS FOR ITS MEMBERS ON PATIENT SAFETY, REGULATORY, AND PRIVACY LEGISLATION INTRODUCED IN CONGRESS. RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE EXTENSIVE TRACKING OF STATE LEGISLATION TO AID MEMBERS' ADVOCACY EFFORTS, THE SUCCESSFUL INTRODUCTION OF LIABILITY PROTECTION LEGISLATION, AND ENGAGMENT WITH REGULATORS ON DATA PRIVACY.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS - MPL ASSOCIATION PRODUCES A QUARTERLY PRINT MAGAZINE, INSIDE MEDICAL LIABILITY, THE LEADING INDUSTRY-WIDE AUTHORITATIVE SOURCE OF INFORMATION ON MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE ISSUES, PUBLIC POLICY, TECHNOLOGY, RESEARCH, AND TRENDS.
