THE ORGANIZATION IS THE OFFICIAL FRIENDS GROUP OF THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE AT SANDY HOOK, DEDICATED TO PRESERVING AND PROTECTING SANDY HOOK'S NATURAL, CULTURAL AND HISTORIC RESOURCES. IN 2021, VARIOUS PROGRAMS INCLUDED OVERSIGHT OF THE CAMP GATEWAY RESTORATION PROJECT, UPKEEP OF THE BICYCLE REPAIR STATIONS ON THE MULTI USE PATH, OVERSIGHT OF THE LIGHTHOUSE CHALLENGE, AND WEEKLY BEACH YOGA AND THE STARS ASTRONOMY PROGRAM. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO RAN THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM HUNT THE HOOK SCAVENGER HUNT FOR 750 PEOPLE IN COMMEMORATION OF NATIONAL PARK WEEK, THE SANDY HOOK ALL- STAR BENEFIT CONCERT FOR 1,200 PEOPLE, THE DESIGN, FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION OF HYDRATION STATION 1, A FREE ROLLER SKATING PROGRAM, THE INSTALLATION OF NEW FENCING IN FRONT OF THE OBSERVATION DECK, AND THE DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF RECOGNITION PLAQUES FOR HISTORY HOUSE, FORT HANCOCK MUSEUM, LIGHTHOUSE KEEPERS QUARTERS AND OBSERVATION DECK.
