FOOD PROGRAM - WE ADMINISTER THE CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM (CACFP) IN THE STONE MOUNTAIN, GA AREA. OUR FEDERAL NUTRITION PROGRAM IS FUNDED BY THE U.S. DEPT. OF AGRICULTURE (USDA) TO ENSURE THAT CHILDREN THROUGHOUT GEORGIA HAVE ACCESS TO NUTRITIOUS MEALS WHILE THEY ARE IN A DAY CARE SETTING AND DURING THE SUMER WHEN SCHOOL IS NOT IN SESSION. OUR PROGRAM HELPS ALLEVIATE HUNGER AND MALNUTRITION AND ADDRESSES THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS THAT HUNGER AND MALNUTRITION HAVE ON AN INDIVIDUAL'S HEALTH, EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND GROWTH, OUR CACFP HELPS IMPROVE THE OVERALL NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF MANY OF OUR FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY.
PREKINDERGARTEN - WE ADMINISTER A GEORGIA'S PRE-K PROGRAM THAT IS A LOTTERY FUNDED EDUCTIONAL PROGRAM FOR GEORGIA'S FOUR YEAR OLDS TO PREPARE CHILDREN FOR KINDERGARTEN. OUR CHILD'S READINESS PROGRAM FOCUS ON: A) POSSIBLE HEALTH BARRIERS THAT BLOCK LEARNING HAVE BEE DETECTED, B) SUSPECTED PHYSICAL OR MENTAL DISABILITIES HAVE BEED ADDRESED. C) ENTHUSIAM, CURIOSITY, AND PERSISTENCE TOWARD LEARNING IS DEMONSTRATED, D) FEELINGS OF BOTH SELF AND OTHERS ARE RECOGNIZED. E) SOCIAL INTERGPERSONAL SKILLS ARE EMERGING, F) COMMUNICATION WITH OTHERS IS EFFECTIVE,
MAXIMUS WE PROVIDE CHILD CARE SERVICES TO FAMILIES THAT RECEIVE TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES (TANF) FUNDING. THE TANF MISSION IS TO PROVIDE NECESSARY ASSISTANCE TO NEEDY FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN ON A TEMPORARY BASIS; FOCUSING ON PROVIDING PARENTS WITH JOB PREPARATION, WORK OPPORTUNITIES, ENFORCEMENT OF CHILD SUPPORT, AND OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES THAT WILL ENABLE THEM TO BECOME SELF-SUFFICIENT AND LEAVE THE PROGRAM.
