Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

THE MISSION IS TO SUPPORT MORRIS HOSPITAL THROUGH FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND VOLUNTEER SERVICE. SPECIFICALLY, THE AUXILIARY RAISES FUNDS THROUGH SPECIAL EVENTS, SALES, AND THE GIFT SHOP AND PROVIDES A WIDE ARRAY OF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE HOSPITAL AND IN THE COMMUNITY.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE MORRIS HOSPITAL AUXILIARY PLAYS AN INTEGRAL ROLE IN THE PROVISION OF LOCAL HEALTHCARE BY ENGAGING OUR COMMUNITY IN SUPPORT OF MORRIS HOSPITAL THROUGH VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AND FUNDRAISING EVENTS. IN 2022, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED MORRIS HOSPITAL WITH 19,390 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE AND $65,500 IN FUNDING FROM FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND GIFT SHOP PROCEEDS. DUE TO THE COVID19 PANDEMIC, THE AUXILIARY WAS UNABLE TO HOST ITS ANNUAL GALA. HOWEVER, A LATER DATE DID ALLOW US TO HAVE OUR ANNUAL GOLF OUTING IN-PERSON. HELD ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2022 ATTENDEES, SPONSORS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WERE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE, RAISING FUNDS FOR TWO SPECIAL COMMUNITY BASED MORRIS HOSPITAL PROGRAMS- LIFELINE AND PATIENT TRANSPORTATION. THE EVENT RAISED MORE THAN $49,800 IN NET PROCEEDS FOR THESE TWO PROGRAMS. THE AUXILIARY GIFT SHOP CONTINUED TO SUPPORT THE HOSPITAL AS WELL. AGAIN, DUE TO THE COVID19 PANDEMIC, THERE WERE LIMITED HOURS FOR THE GIFT SHOP, YET THEY STILL WERE ABLE TO RAISE $25,000 FROM SALES TO BENEFIT THE MORRIS HOSPITAL FOUNDATION'S INTEGRATED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROGRAM. WHILE FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND GIFT SHOP SALES ARE THE HEART OF AUXILIARY FUNDRAISING, SERVICE REMAINS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE MISSION. IN 2022, MORRIS HOSPITAL AUXILIARY VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED OVER 7,323 PATIENT RIDES THROUGH OUR TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM, ASSISTED 265 SENIORS AND LOW-INCOME COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH OUR MORRIS HOSPITAL SHIP COUNSELORS; FETCHED SMILES AND GOODWILL FOR MORRIS HOSPITAL STAFF WITH OUR PET THERAPY VOLUNTEERS; ASSEMBLED OVER 5,000 ADMISSION PACKETS FOR MH PATIENTS; SEWED, KNITTED AND CROCHETED BABY CAPS AND CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS FOR NEWBORNS IN OUR FAMILY BIRTHING SUITES; PLANNED, PLANTED & MAINTAINED OUR NEW SERENITY GARDEN; WELCOMED AND SCREENED THOUSANDS OF VISITORS AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE RECEPTION DESK; SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT OUR FREE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM BY PARTICIPATING IN LOCAL PARADES, ASSISTED WITH THE SPECIAL EVENTS; STEWARDED THE RHYTHM OF OUR YOUTH PROGRAM BY PERFORMING CARDIAC SCREENINGS IN AREA HIGH SCHOOLS; SEWED LAP BLANKETS FOR CANCER PATIENTS AT OUR RADIATION THERAPY CENTER; AND MORE.WHILE THE NEEDS OF THE HOSPITAL HAVE CHANGED DURING ITS CENTURY-PLUS EXISTENCE, THE AUXILIARY'S COMMITMENT HAS NOT WAVERED AS ITS ROLE GROWS MORE SIGNIFICANT WITH EACH PASSING YEAR.
