Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE MORRIS HOSPITAL AUXILIARY PLAYS AN INTEGRAL ROLE IN THE PROVISION OF LOCAL HEALTHCARE BY ENGAGING OUR COMMUNITY IN SUPPORT OF MORRIS HOSPITAL THROUGH VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AND FUNDRAISING EVENTS. IN 2021, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED MORRIS HOSPITAL WITH 16,788 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE AND $86,000 IN FUNDING FROM FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND GIFT SHOP PROCEEDS. DUE TO THE COVID19 PANDEMIC, THE AUXILIARY WAS UNABLE TO HOST ITS ANNUAL GALA. ALTHOUGH IN-PERSON EVENTS WERE NOT POSSIBLE, THE AUXILIARY WAS ABLE TO HOST A VIRTUAL GOLF OUTING. HELD THROUGHOUT THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER, SPONSORS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WERE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE, RAISING FUNDS FOR TWO SPECIAL COMMUNITY BASED MORRIS HOSPITAL PROGRAMS- LIFELINE AND PATIENT TRANSPORTATION. THE EVENT SET A NEW FUNDRAISING RECORD, RAISING MORE THAN $62,700 IN NET PROCEEDS FOR THESE TWO PROGRAMS. THE AUXILIARY GIFT SHOP CONTINUED TO SUPPORT THE HOSPITAL AS WELL. AGAIN, DUE TO THE COVID19 PANDEMIC, THERE WERE LIMITED HOURS FOR THE GIFT SHOP, YET THEY STILL WERE ABLE TO RAISE $23,000 FROM SALES TO BENEFIT THE MORRIS HOSPITAL FOUNDATION'S NEW COVID RELIEF FUND. WHILE FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND GIFT SHOP SALES ARE THE HEART OF AUXILIARY FUNDRAISING, SERVICE REMAINS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE MISSION. MEMBERSHIP IN THE AUXILIARY WAS 130 IN 2021.WHILE THE NEEDS OF THE HOSPITAL HAVE CHANGED DURING ITS CENTURY-PLUS EXISTENCE, THE AUXILIARY'S COMMITMENT HAS NOT WAVERED AS ITS ROLE GROWS MORE SIGNIFICANT WITH EACH PASSING YEAR.
