CIVIC LEADERSHIP - TO STRENGTHEN THE CIVIC CULTURE OF KANSAS SO THAT EVERYDAY PEOPLE ARE BETTER EQUIPPED TO PROGRESS THE COMMON CHALLENGES THEY FACE. KANSAS LEADERSHIP CENTER (KLC) HOSTS REGULAR DISCUSSIONS ON CIVIC LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES AND ENCOURAGES KANSANS TO TAKE ACTIVE PART IN CIVIC LIFE. KLC'S CIVIC ENGAGEMENT WORK HAS RESULTED IN NUMEROUS PARTNERSHIPS WITH ORGANIZATIONS AND COALITIONS WHO SEEK ASSISTANCE IN THE CREATION OF TRUSTWORTHY AND INCLUSIVE PROCESSES FOR ENGAGING COMMUNITIES AROUND TOUGH CIVIC ISSUES AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF EMPOWERING CIVIC INFORMATION TO SPECIFIC AUDIENCES WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. ADDITIONALLY, THIS CURRICULUM IS TAUGHT TO ORGANIZATIONS, TEAMS AND INDIVIDUALS THROUGH A THREE-PROGRAM SEQUENCE CALLED THE KLC PATH. KLC PROVIDES DEVELOPMENT GRANTS TO CIVICALLY ORIENTED ORGANIZATIONS IN KANSAS, PARTNERS WITH LOCAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS IN KANSAS AND OFFERS CUSTOMIZED TRAININGS FOR ORGANIZATIONS AND THEIR EMPLOYEES.
KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER - KLC PRESS'S GROWING CATALOG FEATURES 11 LEADERSHIP BOOKS, INCLUDING COMIENZA CONTIGO, ITS FIRST BOOK IN SPANISH, AND WHEN EVERYONE LEADS, FROM BEST-SELLING BUSINESS PUBLISHER BARD PRESS. THE JOURNAL, A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED, AWARD-WINNING MAGAZINE, HIGHLIGHTS CIVIC LEADERSHIP ISSUES IN KANSAS AND BEYOND THROUGH IN-DEPTH REPORTING, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM AND INNOVATIVE VISUAL CONTENT ADDITIONALLY, THIRD FLOOR RESEARCH IS AN APPLIED RESEARCH CENTER OPERATED THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE KANSAS LEADERSHIP CENTER AND KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY'S STALEY SCHOOL OF LEADERSHIP STUDIES.
