PROJECT IGNITE: INCLUDES ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL), GENERAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT (GED), FINANCIAL EDUCATION, JOB READINESS TRAINING, AND CULTURAL ARTS CLASSES.


CULTURAL ARTS AND COMMUNITY THEATER PROGRAMS - THE CULTURAL ARTS PROGRAMS AT THE PHARR LITERACY PROJECT CONSIST OF TWO PRIMARY FOCUSES 1) ACQUIRING SKILLS THAT WILL PROVIDE A BASIS TO BEGIN A SMALL OR HOME-BASED BUSINESS AND 2) BUILDING LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND STRENGTHENING SELF-ESTEEM FOR LOW INCOME STUDENTS TO PREPARE THEM FOR A WORK WORLD.
