THE WEST VIRGINIA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA FOUNDATION, INC. (THE FOUNDATION) IS A SUPPORTING ORGANIZATION, INCORPORATED SOLEY TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THE WEST VIRGINIA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, INC. THE FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED TO MANAGE PERMANENTLY RESTRICTED ENDOWMENT CONTRIBUTIONS (I.E., CONTRIBUTIONS INTENDED BY THEIR DONORS TO BENEFIT THE WEST VIRGINIA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, INC. IN PERPETUITY) THEREBY PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE WEST VIRGINIA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, INC. THROUGH ANNUAL DISTRIBUTIONS BASED ON A PERCENTAGE OF THE NET FAIR MARKET VALUE OF THE FOUNDATION'S TOTAL ENDOWMENT.
