THE AUSTIN SPORTS COMMISSION GENERATED 47,936 HOTEL ROOM NIGHTS, EXCEEDING THEIR GOAL OF 42,000 ROOM NIGHTS. SIGNIFICANT BOOKINGS INCLUDE:- THE CONCACAF GOLD CUP SEMI-FINALS TOOK PLACE IN JULY 2021 WITH THE UNITED STATES MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM TAKING ON QATAR. IT WAS A SOLD OUT EVENT OF 20,738 PEOPLE WITH OVER 35% OF THE ATTENDEES COMING FROM OUTSIDE OF THE AUSTIN MARKET.- THE INAUGURAL NASCAR AT COTA RACE TOOK PLACE IN AUSTIN WITH OVER 40K SPECTATORS IN ATTENDANCE FOR THE NASCAR CUP SERIES RACE. SPEEDWAY MOTORSPORTS & NASCAR CONFIRMED ANOTHER YEAR FOR AUSTIN IN 2022.- SPORTS WERE SOME OF THE FIRST EVENTS BACK AT THE AUSTIN CONVENTION CENTER (AS IT RELATES TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC).
