NEWSPRING DELIVERS EDUCATIONAL VISUAL ARTS AND BUSINESS MENTORING PROGRAMS THAT INSPIRE STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO ACHIEVE A BETTER LIFE AND TO IMPROVE THEIR COMMUNITIES.

VISUAL ARTS PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 1. DELIVERED THE VISUAL ARTS PROGRAM VIA ON-LINE PLATFORM AS SAFETY CONCERNS CONTINUED 2. REOPENED THE MAIN STUDIO AND VARIOUS SATELLITE LOCATIONS AT SBISD SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY CENTERS 3. COMPLETED AND DELIVERED THE HANAC BUTTERFLY 4. PROVIDED SCHOLARSHIPS AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO 5 COLLEGE STUDENTS FOR THE 2021-2022 ACADEMIC YEAR 5. HOSTED OUTDOOR COMMUNITY EVENTS 6. IN 2021, NEWSPRING HAD 41 SPRING BRANCH STUDENTS AND 3 COLLEGE STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THE STUDENT ART SALES. NEWSPRING CONDUCTED THE ANNUAL AUCTION VIRTUALLY SHOWCASING THE STUDENTS' BEST WORK TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO STAY IN SCHOOL. THE GRANTS FIGURE ABOVE REFLECTS SALES OF STUDENT ART, 100% OF WHICH GOES TO THE STUDENTS, MUCH OF IT IS USED AS SAVINGS FOR COLLEGE.
NEWSPRING CONTINUED THE EDGE PROGRAM TO BUILD A BUSINESS EDUCATION AND MENTORING PROGRAM FOR EXISTING BUSINESS THAT OFFER ECONOMIC BENEFIT TO THE SPRING BRANCH COMMUNITY. THE EDGE PROGRAM HOLDS 6 CLASSES PER YEAR FOR UP TO 10 BUSINESSES IN THE PROGRAM AND PROVIDES ONGOING SUPPORT BY PROVIDING VOLUNTEER SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS AND 2-3 ASSIGNED ADVISERS PER BUSINESS. IN 2021, THE EDGE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: 1. PRESENTED IN-PERSON AND ON-LINE TRAINING TO 5 LOCAL BUSINESSES 2. UTILIZED TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS AND WEBSITE TO EXPAND DELIVERY AS A HYBRID PROGRAM 3. PROVIDED TIMELY INFORMATION UPDATES TO GUIDE BUSINESSES THROUGH THE ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY LINGERING FROM THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC
