MS. JD SEEKS TO SUPPORT AND IMPROVE THE EXPERIENCES OF WOMENT LAW STUDENTS AND LAWYERS. MS. JD SPREADS THE WORD: WOMEN'S VICTORIES ARE EVERYONE'S VICTORIES. IN 2021, THE MS. JD ONLINE COMMUNITY GREW TO NEARLY 3,000 MEMBERS. THIS IS A SPACE WHERE PRE-LAW STUDENTS, LAW STUDENTS, AND LAWYERS CONNECT TO PROVIDE ONE ANOTHER SUPPORT, ADVICE AND MENTORSHIP.

LADDHER UP RETREAT: OVER 60 WOMEN LAW ASSOCIATES IN THEIR FIRST 6 YEARS OF PRACTICE, REPRESENTING 24 LAW FIRMS, ATTENDED THE LADDHER UP RETREAT IN NAPA. ADDITIONALLY, OVER 50 GENERAL COUNSEL ATTENDED THE EVENT AS SPEAKERS AND CAREER COACHES. LADDHER UP IS A UNIQUE RETREAT FOR WOMEN LAW FIRM ASSOCIATES IN THE EARLIER STAGES OF THEIR CAREERS - IN THEIR FIRST SIX YEARS OF PRACTICE - TO PERSONALLY ENGAGE WITH WOMEN GENERAL COUNSEL FOR: TWO DAYS OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ON EFFECTIVELY PITCHING TO POTENTIAL CLIENTS, INTERRUPTING IMPLICIT BIAS, AND BUILDING SKILLS FOR A POTENTIAL GENERAL COUNSEL ROLE IN THE FUTURE TRANSPARENT 2:1 CAREER STRATEGY DISCUSSIONS WITH GENERAL COUNSEL AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH CURATED EVENTS.
PUBLIC INTEREST SCHOLARSHIP: IN AN EFFORT TO PROMOTE PUBLIC INTEREST WORK, MS. JD FUNDED $25,000 OF STIPENDS FOR FEMALE LAW STUDENTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY WHO DEDICATE THEIR SUMMER TO PUBLIC INTEREST LAW IN 2021. THE SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS WERE SELECTED FROM A LARGE POOL OF HIGHLY COMPETITIVE APPLICANTS BASED ON THEIR PASSION AND CONVICTION TOWARD PURSUING A CAREER IN PUBLIC INTEREST LAW.
NWLSO LEADERSHIP ACADEMY: MS. JD SUPPORTS WOMEN LAW STUDENTS THROUGH THE NATIONAL WOMEN LAW STUDENTS' ORGANIZATION NWLSO, WHICH REPRESENTS THE INTERESTS OF WOMEN LAW STUDENTS, PROVIDES A FORUM FOR WOMEN AT LAW SCHOOLS ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO CONNECT WITH ONE ANOTHER AND EXPERIENCED PRACTITIONERS, AND LINKS LAW SCHOOL WOMEN'S ORGANIZATIONS NATIONWIDE. OUR 2021 LEADERSHIP ACADEMY WAS ATTENDED BY 250+ LAW SCHOOL STUDENTS REPRESENTING OVER 100 LAW SCHOOLS.
