IMAGINE LAS MISSION IS TO END THE CYCLE OF FAMILY HOMELESSNESS AND POVERTY.

IMAGINE LA WORKS WITH HIGHLY VULNERABLE WHOLE FAMILIES ACROSS LOS ANGELES COUNTY WHO ARE ESTABLISHING THEIR PATHWAYS TO STABILITY, INCLUDING NEWLY HOUSED FAMILIES AND THOSE WHO HAVE RECENTLY EXPERIENCED HOMELESSNESS. EACH OF OUR FAMILIES HAS FACED CHALLENGES BECAUSE OF COVID-19 AND INFLATION, INCLUDING INCOME LOSS, NAVIGATING HOUSING AND LIVING WAGE OPPORTUNITIES, AND STRESS FROM FAMILY LIFE DURING A HARD ECONOMY. ALL OF THE FAMILIES WE SERVE ARE VERY LOW-INCOME; AT INTAKE, ALL ARE AT OR BELOW 30% AREA MEDIAN INCOME (AMI). 85% OF THE FAMILIES WE SERVE ARE LED BY UNPARTNERED WOMEN, AND 84% OF FAMILIES IDENTIFY AS BIPOC. THE SOCIAL BENEFIT NAVIGATOR -IN JANUARY OF 2023, IMAGINE LA CREATED A NEW WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY CALLED SOCIAL BENEFIT LLC. CO-FOUNDED BY JILL BAUMAN (IMAGINE LA, CEO EMERITUS) AND BRIT MOORE GILMORE (FORMER PRESIDENT, THE GIVING KEYS). ITS PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE SIMPLE HUMAN-CENTERED TOOLS, SERVICES AND DATA THAT EMPOWER USERS TO QUICKLY NAVIGATE AND ACCESS PUBLIC BENEFITS AND TAX CREDITS AS WELL AS PROVIDE PATHWAYS TO ECONOMIC MOBILITY.
