TO FOSTER A COMMUNITY OF LOCAL YOUTH AND MENTORS; TO PROVIDE THEM WITH INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITIES; TO SUPPORT THEM IN ACADEMICS, COMMUNITY SERVICE, ENRICHMENT, AND THE SPORT OF SQUASH.

THE PRIMARY PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE CONSISTENT AND RELIABLE ACADEMIC AND ATHLETIC SUPPORT AND GUIDANCE TO THE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES ATTENDING SCHOOLS IN SANTA BARBARA COUNTY. IN THE CURRENT YEAR, SBSOS PROVIDED SERVICES FOR 42 STUDENTS, 24 GIRLS AND 18 BOYS. 100% OF THE CHILDREN QUALIFY FOR THE FEDERAL FREE LUNCHES PROGRAM IN SANTA BARBARA. IN ADDITION TO SQUASH PRACTICES AND TOURNAMENTS, THE STUDENTS TAKE PART IN COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENTS THAT TOTAL OVER 500 HOURS ANNUALLY BUT DUE TO THE PANDEMIC THIS NUMBER WAS FAR LOWER IN CURRENT YEAR. 100% OF THE SBSOS PROGRAM GRADUATES HAVE GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL AND BEEN ACCEPTED TO COLLEGE.
