FIRST ACCOMPLISHMENT THE OXFORD FREE CLINIC OPERATED THREE CLINICS PER MONTH, PROVIDING PREVENTIVE TREATMENT THROUGH PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR VISITS AS WELL AS WOMEN'S SPECIFIC HEALTH CARE STAFFED WITH GYNECOLOGISTS. THROUGH THESE CLINICS, 95 PATIENTS WERE SERVED INCLUDING 12 GYNECOLOGY PATIENTS. THE CARE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE TO PATIENTS INCLUDES MEDICAL TREATMENT, DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES AND LABORATORY TESTING, SPECIALIST CONSULTS, MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, AND PRESCRIPTIONS. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE OXFORD FREE CLINIC IS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF AREA RESIDENTS WHO FOLLOW THEIR PRESCRIBED COURSE OF TREATMENT TO MANAGE THEIR CHRONIC DISEASE AND ILLNESSES, DESPITE BEING UNINSURED OR UNEMPLOYED. BY PROVIDING CONSISTENT TREATMENT FOR THOSE WITH CHRONIC CONDITIONS AND SIGNIFICANT MONTHLY MEDICATION COSTS, THE CLINIC HELPS TO REDUCE THE MORE SEVERE MANIFESTATIONS OF THOSE ILLNESSES THAT ARE CAUSED WHEN A PATIENT IS UNABLE TO MONITOR AND TREAT THEIR CONDITION DUE TO INSUFFICIENT FINANCIAL RESOURCES. EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES, PREVENTATIVE CARE EXTENDS LIFE.
