PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS ARE INTERVIEWED TO ASSESS NEED AND QUALIFICATIONS. LEGAL DOCUMENTS ARE DRAFTED FOR CLIENTS AND FILED WITH THE APPROPRIATE COURTS. IN 2021, ATTORNEYS REPRESENTED 76 CLIENTS IN LITIGATIONS INVOLVING FAMILY VIOLENCE AND/OR CHILD ABUSE.
IN 2021, THE JUSTICE MINISTRY OBTAINED LEGAL PROTECTIONS FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN A LARGE MAJORITY OF ITS LITIGATIONS. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, THE MINISTRY PAID 22,806 IN EXPENSE TO SERVE COURT DOCUMENTS, OBTAIN MEDICAL RECORDS, DNA TESTING FOR COURT EVIDENCE, PROVIDE THIRD PARTY ATTORNEY FEES WHEN REQUIRED, AND PROVIDE CITATION BY PUBLICATION WHEN APPLICABLE. COURT FILING FEES, TRANSLATION SERVICES, CERTIFIED COPIES, ETC. TOTALED 36,655.
