LIVE PERFORMANCES: TULSA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA WAS ABLE TO PERFORM 3 "LIVE" CLASSIC SYMPHONY CONCERTS AT ONEOK FIELD. THE ONEOK FIELD CONCERTS ALLOWED TSO TO CONTINUE PERFORMING TO AN AUDIENCE AMIDST THE COVID CRISIS. WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO PERFORM WITH SOME RENOWNED GUEST ARTISTS THAT WE WOULD OF OTHERWISE NOT BEEN ABLE TO PERFORM WITH IF THEIR SCHEDULES HAD NOT BEEN FREED UP WITH CANCELLATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.RADIO/TV BROADCASTS: TULSA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA USED THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECORD THE SCHEDULED CONCERTS AND GIVE THE PERFORMANCES TO THE TULSA COMMUNITY. WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO SECURE A SPONSORSHIP WITH CHANNEL 6 AND TELEVISE A HOLIDAY PROGRAM IN DECEMBER.
TULSA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PARTNERS WITH OTHER PROFESSIONAL GROUPS IN TULSA TO PROVIDE THE PIT ORCHESTRA FOR PERFORMANCES FOR THE TULSA BALLET THEATER AND THE TULSA ORATORIO CHORUS. THE TULSA SYMPHONY ACTIVELY SUPPORTS OTHER ARTS AND NON-ARTS ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING THE TWO AFOREMENTIONED, TULSA OPERA, GILCREASE MUSEUM, PHILBROOK MUSEUM, VA HOSPITALS AND OK AQUARIUM PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL AND ARTISTIC PERFORMANCES.
THE TULSA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA SUPPORTS AN OUTSTANDING EDUCATION OUTREACH PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM SERVES KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 12TH GRADE. INDIVIDUAL MUSICIANS FROM TSO PROVIDE MASTER CLASSES, COACHING, SECTIONALS, CLINICS AND ENSEMBLE PERFORMANCES TO COMPLEMENT SCHOOL MUSIC PROGRAMS, AS WELL AS INSPIRE AND DEVELOP THE NEXT GENERATION OF AUDIENCES AND MUSICIANS. THE WEILL MUSIC INSTITUTE CARNEGIE HALL LINK UP PROGRAM HAS BECOME THE FLAGSHIP EDUCATION OUTREACH OFFERING SINCE 2015-16. IN THAT PILOT PROGAM SEASON 1200 STUDENTS FROM 2 SCHOOL DISTRICTS PARTICIPATED. LINK UP GREW IN 4 SEASONS TO NOW SERVE 20,000 PLUS STUDENTS IN 13 GREATER TULSA AND REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS. THE IMPACT OF THE LINK UP CURRICULUM IS HAILED BY TEACHERS AND THE INTERACTIVE CULMINATING EXPERIENCE OF STUDENTS PERFORMING RECORDERS WITH THE ORCHESTRA FROM THEIR SEATS IN AN EXCITING AND INSPIRING EXPERIENCE FOR ALL.
