IBE WORKS TO PROMOTE A STATE EDUCATION SYSTEM THAT WILL PROVIDE ITS STUDENTS WITH A HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATION THAT ENSURES THE WELL-EDUCATED WORKFORCE OUR BUSINESSES AND ECONOMY REQUIRE, WILL ANTICIPATE AND SERVE THE CURRENT AND FUTURE NEEDS OF THE ECONOMY AND UTILIZES PROCESSES THAT ARE EFFICIENT, ACCOUNTABLE, RESPONSIVE, INNOVATIVE AND HIGH-PERFORMING.
CLOSE THE DIVIDE PROGRAM. DUE TO COVID-19, WE HAVE A MASSIVE EDUCATIONAL CHALLENGE. APPROXIMATLEY 200,000 IDAHO STUDENTS NEED COMPUTERS AND INTERNET ACCESS FOR REMOTE SCHOOLING. CLOSE THE DIVIDE PROGRAM IS STRIVING TO CLOSE THE DIGITAL DIVIDE FOR IDAHO STUDENTS AS REMOTE LEARNING IS BECOMING THE NEXT NORMAL. IBE SET UP THE FUND WITH THE IDAHO COMMUNITY FOUNDATION WHICH IS MANAGING THOSE DONATIONS FOR IBE.
YOUTH APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM. THROUGH A JOINT EFFORT WITH THE IDAHO WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL, IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, AND IDAHO CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION, IBE IS SCALING UP IDAHOS YOUTH APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM WITH A GOAL OF PLACING 400 APPRENTICES BY 2024. IBE YOUTH APPRENTICESHIP CONNECTS 16-24 YEAR-OLDS TO JOBS, TRAINING, AND CAREERS IN IDAHO. BUILDING WORKFORCE-READY LABOR REQUIRES A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT AMONG GOVERNMENT, BUSINESS, AND EDUCATION. IBE YOUTH APPRENTICESHIP PROVIDES EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND ACCESS TO POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS AND IT HELPS US REACH IDAHOS GOAL OF HAVING 60% OF OUR 25 TO 34 YEAR-OLD WORKERS HOLD A POSTSECONDARY CREDENTIAL.
