LEGACY IS A PK-12 PRIVATE UNIVERSITY MODEL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL WITH AN ENROLLMENT OF APPROXIMATELY 575 STUDENTS. LEGACY'S STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM SMALL CLASSROOM SIZES TAUGHT BY CERTIFIED TEACHERS. THEY CONSISTENTLY OUTPERFORM THE NATIONAL AVERAGE IN EVERY CATEGORY OF THE IOWA STANDARDIZED TEST AS WELL AS THE PSAT EXAM. STARTING IN MIDDLE SCHOOL, STUDENTS TAKE DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES, WITH A CURRICULUM FOCUSED ON STRENGTHENING THE FOUNDATIONS OF THEIR FAITH AND BEING ABLE TO SHARE AND DEFEND IT. GRADUATES HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED, HAVE RECEIVED SCHOLARSHIPS, AND ARE ATTENDING MAJOR UNIVERSITIES.
LEGACY OFFERS ATHLETIC PROGRAMS FOR STUDENTS IN 6TH-12TH GRADE AND COMPETES IN UP TO 10 SPORTS IN THE TAPPS LEAGUE. LEGACY'S ATHLETIC TEAMS REGULARLY ADVANCE TO PLAYOFF GAMES. LEGACY'S SMALL SIZE ALLOWS MOST STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN MULTIPLE SPORTS WITH 85% OF MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN AT LEAST ONE SPORT. THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM CONTINUES TO GROW IN PARTICIPATION AND SPORT OFFERINGS.
LEGACY OFFERS SEVERAL STUDENT ACTIVITIES PROGRAMS. THE FINE ARTS PROGRAM IS OPEN TO 3RD-12TH GRADE STUDENTS AND CONDUCTS TWO PERFORMANCES PER YEAR. LEGACY'S STUDENTS ALSO PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY, SCRIPPS SPELLING BEE, NOETIC MATH COMPETITION, AMERICAN MATH COMPETITIONS, AND FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION. LEGACY ALSO OFFERS A HOT LUNCH PROGRAM TO STUDENTS OF ALL GRADE LEVELS.
