THE ASSOCIATION ASSISTED IN THE DONATION OF 32 MILLION POUNDS OF PRODUCE AND FARM PRODUCT TO THE FOOD BANKS IN COLLABORATION WITH AGRICULTURAL PARTNERSHIPS ACROSS THE STATE OF NY. THE ASSOCIATION MANAGES A STATEWIDE VENISON DONATION PROGRAM THROUGH A CONTRACT WITH NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH WHICH GENERATED OVER 60,000 POUNDS OF LEAN, HIGH PROTEIN MEAT DONATED TO THE FOOD BANKS. THE ASSOCIATION SECURED FUNDING THROUGH NYS DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO MEMBER FOOD BANKS TO INCREASE FOOD ACCESS THROUGH REDUCTIONS OF FOOD TO LANDFILLS. THIS INCLUDES INCREASED OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH RETAIL AND AGR. PARTNERS. THE ASSOCIATION SECURED FUNDING THROUGH NYS DEPT OF HEALTH TO PURCHASE NY ORIGIN FOOD PRODUCTS FOR DISTRIBUTIONS TO ITS MEMBERS. THE ASSOCIATION SECURED FUNDING THROUGH FEEDING AMERICA TO ASSIST IN THE PANDEMIC RESPONSE.
