THE ORGANIZATION HAS ONLY ONE PROGRAM - TO PROVIDE A RETIREMENT HOME FOR RACEHORSES WHO HAVE REACHED THE END OF THEIR RACING CAREERS DUE TO AGE OR INJURY. THE 120-ACRE FARM IS CURRENTLY HOME TO MULTIPLE PERMANENT RESIDENTS.ALL OUR HORSES CAME STRAIGHT FROM VARIOUS RACETRACKS IN ARIZONA AND NEW MEXICO. EQUINE ENCORE'S FOCUS IS STRICTLY ON RETIREMENT AND ADOPTION. MANY RESIDENTS SUFFERED CAREER-ENDING INJURIES-BOWED TENDONS, FRACTURED SESAMOIDS-AND CANNOT BE REPURPOSED FOR ANOTHER CAREER. OUR CHALLENGE IS TO PROVIDE FOR THEM FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES BY ADMINISTERING PROPER CARE FOR THEIR FEET AND TEND TO THEIR MEDICAL NEEDS.WE RECEIVE SUPPORT FROM THE INDUSTRY AND THROUGH PRIVATE DONATIONS FROM RACEHORSE OWNERS AND FANS OF THE SPORT.
