ROCKFORD WOODLAWN PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT WHICH FOCUSES ON RELIEVING URBAN BLIGHT AND STABILIZING COMMUNITIES BY WORKING WITH ORGANIZATIONS THAT FOCUS ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE CITY OF WILMINGTON. WE ENHANCE THE LIVES OF WILMINGTON RESIDENTS BY INVESTING AND SUPPORTING EFFORTS TO PROVIDE SAFE AND AFFORDABLE LIVING ENVIRONMENTS THAT FOSTER STABILITY AND INCREASE SELF-SUFFICIENCY FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WITH LOWER INCOMES. THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECTS WE'VE SUPPORTED SERVE 221 INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHOSE INCOME FALLS BETWEEN 30% AND 60% OF THE AREA MEDIAN INCOME, BY PROVIDING ONE-TO-THREE-BEDROOM RENTAL UNITS, ALL OF WHICH FALL WITHIN THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING CRITERIA. ROCKFORD WOODLAWN ALSO PROMOTES THE PRESERVATION OF OPEN SPACE FOR PUBLIC ENJOYMENT BY FUNDING PROJECTS TO ENHANCE EXISTING PARKS AND OPEN SPACES THAT WILL ENCOURAGE PUBLIC USE AND TO ACQUIRE LANDS TO BE UTILIZED AS OPEN SPACE FOR PUBLIC ENJOYMENT.
