NEHI, INC. ADMINISTERS THE PURCHASE/REHAB/SELL PROGRAM USING HUD HOME FUNDS PROVIDED THROUGH THE NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF ECOMONIC DEVELOPMENT (NDED). HOUSEHOLDS AT OR BELOW 80% OF THE AREA MEDIAN INCOME QUALIFY FOR THE PROGRAM. NEHI, INC. PURCHASES THE HOUSE, OVERSEES THE REHAB WORK DONE TO NDED REHAB STANDARDS, AND SELLS THE HOUSE TO THE BUYER. AT THE TIME OF SALE, NEHI, INC. PROVIDES APPROXIMATELY 20% OF THE COST OF THE HOME THROUGH A 0% LOAN THAT IS DEFERRED UNTIL THE FIRST HOME LOAN IS PAID OFF, THE HOUSE IS SOLD, OR THE BUYER DEFAULTS.
