TO EDUCATE AND PROMOTE AWARENESSS TO THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY REGARDING BREAST CANCER. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES PROGRAMS OF SUPPORT, BREAST HEALTH EDUCATION,ADVOCACY TRAINING, RESOURCES AND RESEARCH.

ANNUAL WELLNESS WEBNARS - OVER 100 PARTICIPANTS REGISTERED FOR THE THREE WEEK WEBINAR SERIES. MAMMOGRAM CARDS AND FOLLOW UP WERE PROVIDED TO PARTICIPANTS WHO REQUESTED ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. SISTER2SISTER CONTINUES TO PARTNER WITH THE RWJ COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATION AND PROVIDE FREE SCREENING TO LOCAL PARTICIPANTS. FOLLOW UP IS GIVEN TO ALL PARTICPANTS THAT NEED ADDITIONAL BREAST HEALTH INFORMATION AND/OR SHOW SIGNS OF HEALTH PROBLEMS. THE GIFT FOR LIFE BLOCK WALK AND 5K BREAST CANCER "RUN/WALK 4LIFE WAS COMBINED. FOUR HUNDRED PARTICIPANTS REGISTERED FOR THE 5K WALK. THE 5K RACE/WALK IS AN ANNUAL EVENT HELD EACH YEAR. THE FUNDS RAISED HELP TO BRING OUTREACH AND EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS TO THOUSANDS OF FAMILIES IN CENTRAL NEW JERSEY. IN ADDITION TO SUPPORTING MANY COMMUNITY BREAST HEALTH PROGRAMS, FUNDS RAISED FOM THIS EVENT SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION'S BREAST CANCER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM BCAP, WHICH PROVIES EMERGENCY BREAST CANCER RELATED SERVICES FOR QUALIFIED WOMEN DURING TREATMENT. THIS YEAR THE WALK WAS CONDUCTED VIRTUALLY DUE TO COVID-19. DURING 2021, THE ORGANIZATION PARTICPATED IN A RESEARCH PROGRAM NJ HEROES TOO. NJ HEROES TOO, AN ACRONYM FOR NEW JERSEY HEALTHCARE ESSENTIAL WORKER OUTREACH AND EDUCATION STUDY TESTING OVERLOOKED OCCUPATIONS. WITH THE CONTINUAL EMERGENCE OF VARIANTS OF THE CORONAVIRUS, COVID-19 TESTING REMAINS RELEVANT, ESPECIALLY IN BLACK AND LATINO COMMUNITIES WHERE THE RATE OF VACCINATION IS LOW. NJ HEROES TOO HAS DEVISED AN EFFECTIVE METHODOLOGY OF REACHING MEMBERS OF COMMUNITIES THAT HAVE BEEN MOST ADVERSELY IMPACTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND EXPAND AT-HOME COVID-19 TESTING. WOMEN EMPOWERING WOMEN IS NORMALLY AN ANNUAL EVENT DESIGNED FOR WOMEN LEADERS IN THE COMMUNITY. THE ORGANIZATION PARTNERS WITH WOMEN IN THE COMMUNITY FOR A ONE DAY PROGRAM THAT EDUCATES AND EMPOWERS WOMEN TO TAKE THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION TO THEIR HOMES. IT ALSO HONORS ONE OUTSTANDING WOMAN.
ORGANIZATION PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT ASSISTANCE FOR UNINSURED AND UNDERINSURED WOMEN DIAGNOSED WITH BREAST CANCER. THE BREAST CANCER ASSISTANT PROGRAM (BCAP) PROVIDED OVER 13,000 IN BCAP FINANCIAL SERVICES TO WOMEN; SERVICES INCLUDED, PROSTHETIC ITEMS, MEALS, TRANSPORTATION TRIPS FOR CHEMO TREATMENTS, FOOD CARDS, RENT, UTILITIES AND OTHER EMERGENCY SERVICES.
