THROUGH THE ORGANIZATION'S PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES, AT-RISK HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BECOME CONNECTED WITH ADULT CHRISTIAN MENTORS TO WALK THROUGH LIFE AND DEVELOP THESE YOUTH IN THE AREAS OF ACADEMICS, FAMILY LIFE, RECREATION, LIFE SKILLS, AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH. THE SLAM PROGRAM CREATES THE PERFECT ENVIRONMENT FOR MENTORS TO CONNECT WITH YOUTH BY OFFERING HIGH-ENERGY GAMES, BIBLE TEACHING, AND ONE-ON-ONE MENTORSHIP DISCUSSION TIME. ALSO, GRIP, THE SCHOOL, INITIATIVE EMPOWERS VOLUNTEER MENTORS TO SERVE UNDER-RESOURCED CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND CONNECTS THEM WITH AT-RISK YOUTH TO BUILD LIFE-ON-LIFE RELATIONSHIPS.
