THE VIRGINIA LOGGERS ASSOCIATION (VLA) IS A 501 C 6 TRADE ASSOCIATION DEDICATED TO ADVOCACY, EDUCATION, AND PROMOTION OF PROFESSIONAL VLA AND NON-VLA MEMBERS ENGAGED IN THE FOREST HARVESTING AND FOREST PRODUCTS INDUSTRY. VLA PROMOTES THE PROFESSIONAL IMAGE AND FACTUAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE FOREST PRODUCTS INDUSTRY TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT, COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA POLICY MAKERS, AND CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS. VLA LOBBIES AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT AND SEEKS TO CREATE LEGISLATIVE AWARENESS AND REPRESENTATION FOR SMALL AND FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESSES.

VLA PROMOTES SHARING OF INFORMATION BY FACILITATING NETWORKING EVENTS AND PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AMONG MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC CONCERNING FOREST HARVESTING, PRODUCTS, PRODUCTION, REFORESTATION, AND SAFETY. VLA EDUCATES POLICY MAKERS AT THE LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT REGARDING ISSUES FACED BY MEMBERS IN THE FOREST PRODUCTS INDUSTRY. VLA ENGAGES WITH STATE POLICY MAKERS DURING EACH GENERAL ASSEMBLY SESSION TO ENSURE MEMBERS' BUSINESS INTERESTS ARE REPRESENTED. VLA DISTRIBUTES FIVE MAGAZINES ANNUALLY AND MAINTAINS THE VLA WEBSITE AND FACEBOOK FOR MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC.
