GREAT EXPECTATIONS PROGRAM:PART ONE: BY UNDERWRITING MOST OF THE COSTS OF ATTENDING HIGH SCHOOL, GREAT EXPECTATIONS ENABLES HIGH-SCHOOL AGED YOUTH FROM EXTREME POVERTY WHO HAVE SHOWN ACADEMIC PROMISE TO EARN HIGH-SCHOOL DIPLOMAS. THE PROGRAM ALLOWS CHILDREN TO ESCAPE A LIFE OF HARD LABOR, POVERTY, AND GIVES THEM A CHANCE TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION. THE PROGRAM GIVES THE CHILDREN THE OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE A BETTER LIFE FOR THEMSELVES THAT BENEFITS THEIR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES. THEY BECOME ROLE MODELS FOR OTHER CHILDREN WHO ASPIRE TO DEVELOP THEIR POTENTIAL THROUGH CONTINUED EDUCATION. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING: SCHOOL FEES, DORMITORY FEES, SCHOOL LUNCHES, TEXT BOOKS, EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES, AND SCHOOL UNIFORMS.PART TWO: THE PROGRAM ALSO HAS A STRONG EVALUATION COMPONENT. WE PARTNER WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN, YAN QING NO 2 HIGH SCHOOL, AND BEIJING NORMAL UNIVERSITY.
NOURISHING LIFE PROGRAM: THE GOAL IS TO HELP STUDENTS TO LEARN MINDFULNESS AND HEALTHY LIFE ROUTINE VIA PRACTICING MEDITATION, TAI JI, AND ENERGY MOVEMENTS. WE PROMOTE HEALTHY HYGIENE HABITS, HEALTHY DIET, AND HEALTHY DENTAL HABITS. IN THIS PROGRAM, WE OFFER DAILY AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES, WORKSHOPS, AND TRAINING SESSIONS ETC.
TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE INTO SCHOOL CURRICULUM PROGRAM: THE GOAL IS TO PUT TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE BASIC THEORY AND LIFESTYLES INTO THE SCHOOL CURRICULUM.
