IN THE SCHOOL YEAR, VISION ED WILL BE SERVING OVER 700 STUDENTS IN GRADES K-12 IN THE UNDERSERVED NEIGHBORHOODS OF THE SOUTH BRONX AND BROWNSVILLE . THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF TECHNOLOGY BASED PROGRAMS AND THE IONTEGRATION OF THESE PROGRAMS INTO THE CLASSROOM , VISION ED PROVIDES ENGAGING PARTICIPATORY LEARNING FOR STUDENTS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORUTINITIES FOR TEACHERS . OUR PROJECT BASED STEAM PROGRAMMING ALSO SUPPORTS AND HELPS STUDENTS TO ACQUIRE ESSENTIAL SKILLS IN CRITICAL THINKING . INDEPENDENT PROBLEM SOLVING , AND DEMOCRATIC BEHAVIOR ,FOSTERING IN THEM THE COMPETENCE AND CONFIDENCE TO GROW AND ACHIEVE WITH IN THEIR COMMUNITY, SOCIETY AND THE 21ST CENTURY GLOBAL COMMUNITY .
