THE FOUNDATION GRANTS FUNDS TO THE FUNDACION PARA MISIONES INTERNACIONAIES HONDEURENA IN ORDER TO SUPPORT CLINICA NUEZA ESPERANZA, A MEDICAL CLINIC SERVING PEOPLE IN A REMOTE AREA OF HONDURAS. FUNDS ARE USED FOR PHYSICIAN, NURSE, AND STAFF SALARIES, PHARMACEUTICALS AND OTHER COMMUNITY HEALTH ACTIVITIES.

THE FOUNDATION GRANTS FUNDS TO THE FUNDACION DE MISIONES INTERNACIONAIES HONDUREAN IN ORDER TO FUND THE CLINICA NUEVA ESPERANZA A MEDICAL CLINIC SERVING A REMOTE AREA OF HONDURAS. FUNDS ARE USED FOR THE PHYSICIAN, NURSE AND OTHER STAFF SALARIES, PHARMACEUTICALS, SUPPLIES, LAB TESTS AND OTHER OPERATING EXPENSES. IN 2021 THE STAFF AT THE CLINIC SAW 8,232 PATIENTS AND 3,485 WERE UNABLE TO PAY. OTHER PATIENTS WERE ABLE TO PAY A NOMINAL FEE FOR A DOCTOR VISIT AND MEDICATIONS. IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO PAY THE CLINIC PROVIDES BOTH THE DOCTOR VISIT AND MEDICATIONS AT NOT COST. OF THESE PATIENTS 203 WERE EMERGENCIES AND 120 WERE STABALIZED AND SENT TO THE TEACHING HOSITAL IN TEGUCIGALPA FOR MORE EXTENSIVE TREATMENT. 96 PAITENTS WERE TRANSPORTED BY THE CLINIC. IN 2021 443 PAP SMEARS WERE PERFORMED. IN 2021 3,697 DENTAL PATIENTS WERE SEEN OF WHOM 997 WERE UNABLE TO PAY. THE LAB DID A TOTAL OF 8,522 TESTS; 904 GENERAL URINE, 356 HEMOGLOBIN, 234 OCCULT BLOOD, 67 GLYCOYZED HEMOGLOBIN, 324 PREGNANCY, 3,689 BLOOD GLUCOSE, 916 DENGAY AND 2,345 COVID.
THE CLINICS PHYSICIAN AND DENTIST CONDUCT HEALTH TALKS ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS IN THE SCHOOLS AND THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. IN 2021 CANINE VACCINATION CAMPAIGNS WERE RUN IN 4 VILLAGES AND MASSIVE CAMPAIGNS IN ALL COMMUNITIES TO ELIMINATE MOSQUITOS, DENGAY TRANSMITTERS.
