THE PRIMARY MISSION IS TO ENHANCE STEM BASED EDUCATION. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES ARE THE COORDINATION OF FIRST ROBOTICS PROGRAMS IN THE STATE OF ILLINOIS. THE ORGANIZATION CURRENTLY FOCUSES ON CHILDREN 6 TO 18 YEARS OLD THROUGH THREE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS.

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE HAS 2 SUBPROGRAMS - FIRST LEGO LEAGUE CHALLENGE AND FIRST LEGO LEAGUE EXPLORE. FIRST LEGO LEAGUE CHALLENGE - OVER 300 TEAMS PARTICIPATED IN THE FIRST LEGO LEAGUE CHALLENGE PROGRAM IN ILLINOIS THIS SEASON. WE AGAIN OFFERED A VIRTUAL/ONLINE TOURNAMENT OPTION, HOWEVER OVER 90% OF TEAMS PARTICIPATED IN IN-PERSON TOURNAMENTS. APPROXIMATELY 2200 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE PROGRAM. FIRST LEGO LEAGUE EXPLORE - AS A RESULT OF COVID19 THERE WAS LIMITED PARTICIPATION IN FIRST LEGO LEAGUE EXPLORE THIS PAST SEASON. WE SUPPORTED TEAMS WITH INDIVIDUAL REVIEW OF THEIR TEAM PROGRESS INSTEAD OF HAVING EVENTS THIS PAST YEAR.
FIRST TECH CHALLENGE - OVER 170 TEAMS PARTICIPATED IN ILLINOIS DURING THE PAST YEAR. ALL EVENTS RETURNED TO IN PERSON TOURNAMENTS. AN ONLINE ROBOT SIMULATOR SOFTWARE APPLICATION WAS ALSO DEVELOPED. APPROXIMATELY 1700 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE PROGRAM.
FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION. FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION ACTIVITY IN ILLINOIS IS RUN BY FIRST (501C3 IN NEW HAMPSHIRE). INSCITE ILLINOIS (DBA FIRST ILLINOIS ROBOTICS) ASSISTS FIRST IN THIS PROGRAM. THE MAJORITY OF THE REVENUE WITHIN INSCITE ILLINOIS IS RELATED TO LOCAL FUND RAISING TO COVER RUNNING THE PROGRAM NATIONALLY INCLUDING ILLINOIS. APPROXIMATELY 1200 STUDENTS WERE INVOLVED IN TEAMS IN ILLINOIS.
