DOMESTIC PROGRAM: SERVED 600THE HEART'S HOME USA TEAM CONSISTS OF 10 PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY VOLUNTEERS, STATIONED IN BROOKLYN. THEY SERVE 24/7 AS AN INDISPENSABLE SOURCE OF MORAL SUPPORT FOR DISADVANTAGED MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, AS THEY STRIVE TO CREATE INTIMATE, LONG-TERM BONDS WITH THOSE IN NEED AND TO ASSIST THEM WITH DAY-TO-DAY SERVICES. THEY VISITED 250 PEOPLE AT THEIR HOMES ON A REGULAR BASIS, ORGANIZED 21 COMMUNITY BUILDING EVENTS, VISITED 11 FACILITIES MONTHLY OR WEEKLY (NURSING HOMES, SHELTERS, HOSPITALS, ETC). WITH THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THEY ALSO CREATED NEW WAYS OF REACHING OUT TO PEOPLE (PHONE CALLS, ONLINE OR LIMITED IN-PRESENCE ACTIVITIES).
AMERICAN MISSIONARY PROGRAM: SERVED 268HEART'S HOME AMERICAN MISSIONARY PROGRAM TRAINS AND SENDS YOUNG PEOPLE BETWEEN 21 AND 35 YEARS OLD TO SERVE IN SOME OF THE POOREST NEIGHBORHOODS AROUND THE WORLD (AVERAGE DURATION OF A MISSION: 18 MONTHS). FOR MOST OF THEM, THE MISSION WITH HEART'S HOME IS A LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE, A GENUINE "GRAD-SCHOOL OF COMPASSION".
