LOOK UP MINISTRIES IS A COMMUNITY CENTER THAT SERVES THROUGH CHRIST CENTERED LOVE, EDUCATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT. PROGRAMS ASSIST IN MEETING PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL NEEDS INCLUDING PROVIDING TEACHING, TRAINING AD SKILLS TO LIVE A CHRIST CONNECTED LIFE.

Part 3 - Line 4a

OPPORTUNITY STORE: RECEIVES, COLLECTS,SORTS AND DISPLAYS DONATIONS OF CLOTHING, FURNITURE, APPLIANCES AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS. THE STORE SELLS/GIVES AWAY TO MEET NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY. THE STORE IS OPERATED TO PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY AND GAIN OWNERSHIP OF ITEMS TO MEET NEEDS AT A LOWER COST THAN THRIFT AND "FOR-PROFIT" STORES. HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE BASIC CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD NEEDS. DUE TO COVID WE DID SHUT DOWN A SHORT PERIOD AND RESTRICTED NUMBER OF PEOPLE DURING OTHER PERIODS. INCOME FROM SALES HELPS SUPPORT THE COST OF THE STORE.


COMMUNITY SERVICE: THIS PROGRAM ENCOMPASSED A NUMBER OF SERVICES TO MEET NEEDS DURING THE COVID SHORTAGES INCLUDING PROVIDING ESSENTIALS, FOOD AND MEALS. IT GAVE FREE COATS, THANKSGIVING MEALS, CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR KIDS, CRAFTS, BIBLE STUDIES, MOVIES, SPACE FOR TURBAN GROUP, OTHER EVENTS INCLUDING USE OF 5TH STREET LOT. THE COVID CRISIS CREATED A CHANGING ENVIRONMENT THAT CHANGED NEEDS AND ACTIVITIES. THE 5TH STREET LOT WAS SOLD AND PROCEEDS WERE USED TO SUPPORT THE MINISTRY.


TRADES PROGRAM:PROVIDES "NCCER" TRAINING,TESTING AND INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION FOR BASIC CONSTRUCTION SKILLS. IN ADDITION OSHA 10 SAFETY TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION ARE PROVIDED. MANY STUDENTS HAVE BEEN INCARCERATED AND/OR IN FOSTER HOMES AND THIS PROGRAM OFFERS AN OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE. TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP IN VARIOUS LIFE SKILLS IS PROVIDED IN A CHRIST FOCUSED ENVIRONMENT. THE PROGRAM AND PARTICIPANTS WERE LIMITED DUE TO COVID BUT TWO CLASSES WERE COMPLETED.
