CONSTRUCTION OF INTREPID SPIRIT CENTERS:THE INTREPID FALLEN HEROES FUND (IFHF) IS LEADING THE EFFORT TO SUPPORT SERVICE MEMBERS SUFFERING THE TERRIBLE EFFECTS OF TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY (TBI) AND POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS (PTS), WHICH AFFLICT HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF MILITARY PERSONNEL. IFHF IS BUILDING A SERIES OF TEN SPECIALLY-DESIGNED TREATMENT FACILITIES, CALLED INTREPID SPIRIT CENTERS, AT MILITARY BASES AROUND THE NATION, WITHIN WHICH SERVICE MEMBERS RECEIVE THE MOST ADVANCED AND PROVEN CARE TO ADDRESS THE COMPLEX SYMPTOMS OF TBI AND PTS, WITH THE GOAL OF RETURNING THESE MEN AND WOMEN TO THEIR REGULAR DUTIES IN THE ARMED FORCES. NINE INTREPID SPIRIT CENTERS ARE ALREADY OPEN AND SERVING AMERICA'S BRAVE SERVICE MEMBERS, AND THEY HAVE ACHIEVED A SUCCESS RATE OF RETURNING MORE THAN 90% OF PATIENTS TO DUTY. IN ADDITION TO THE NEW CONSTRUCTION, IFHF ALSO FUNDED NEW EQUIPMENT PURCHASES AT THE EXISTING FACILITIES THAT ARE ALREADY OPEN AND OPERATING.
OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES:IN DECEMBER 2021, A $10,000 SUPPORT GRANT WAS GIVEN TO A BRITISH NON-PROFIT, WALKING WITH THE WOUNDED, WHICH TREATS AND ASSISTS BRITISH MILITARY PERSONNEL WHO HAVE SUFFERED SEVERE INJURIES IN THE WARS IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN. THE INTREPID FALLEN HEROES FUND HAS A LONG HISTORY OF SUPPORTING BRITISH SERVICE MEMBERS, WHO WERE INCLUDED IN THE FUND'S ORIGINAL PROGRAM OF PROVIDING GRANTS TO FAMILIES OF MILITARY PERSONNEL WHO HAD BEEN KILLED WHILE SERVING IN UNIFORM.
