PROGRAMMING, OUTREACH, MUSEUM EXPLORATION THE MUSEUM EXPANDED ITS EFFORTS TO DELIVER HIGH QUALITY PROGRAM EXPERIENCES WHILE WORKING THROUGH CHALLENGES OF PANDEMIC. MUSEUM CONTINUED SERVING CHILDREN THROUGH ITS ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS, SUPPORTING WORKING FAMILIES WHILE SCHOOL REMAINED CLOSED. WHEN SCHOOLS RE-OPENED, SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS REMAINED ON HOLD THROUGH 2021, DUE TO TRANSPORTATION LIMITATIONS AND COVID MITIGATION POLICIES. WHEN KIDS COULDNT COME TO THE MUSEUM, STAFF FOUND A WAY TO TAKE THE EXPERIENCES TO THEM. THROUGH GRANT FUNDS PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER CHILDRENS SERVICE AGENCIES, OVER 750 HANDS-ON LEARNING KITS WERE CREATED DELIVERED TO AREA DAYCARES AND SCHOOLS. MAKER CITY, A MAKERSPACE FOR YOUTH 8, RE-OPENED IN 1ST Q, 2021 THE MUSEUM STARTED TO WELCOME BACK VOLUNTEER SUPPORT TO EXPAND ITS REACH. TWENTY-FIVE DIFFERENT SUMMER CAMP SESSIONS WERE OFFERED.
EXHIBIT/CAPITAL EXPANSION THE MUSEUM FEATURES 16 EXHIBIT GALLERIES TO HELP CHILDREN LEARN THROUGH PLAY. THE EXHIBITS ARE ALSO THE INSPIRATION FOR MUSEUM ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS. WITH THOUSANDS OF VISITORS EACH YEAR, REPAIR AND REFURBISHMENT OF ALL EXHIBIT AREAS ARE ESSENTIAL. IN 2021, NEW BACKDROP CURTAINS WERE PURCHASED AND INSTALLED IN THE THEATER EXHIBIT. THE MUSEUM CONTINUED TO ADD PERIMETER DISPLAYS TO ITS CASH FLOW FINANCIAL LITERACY EXHIBIT. INDIVIDUAL LEARNING KIOSKS WERE DESIGNED, FABRICATED, AND INSTALLED WITH FOCUS ON TEACHING FAMILIES THE CONCEPTS OF EARNING, SPENDING, SAVING, INVESTING, AND SHARING. TO ENSURE THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF QUALITY PLAY, THE MUSEUM REGULARLY EVALUATES, UPDATES, AND MAINTAINS EXHIBIT AND FACILITY SPACES.
