TO ASSESS AND PRESERVE HANALEI WATERSHED RESOURCES GUIDED BY HAWAIIAN AND OTHER PRINCIPLES OF SUSTAINABILITY, STEWARDSHIP, INTEGRITY, BALANCE, COOPERATION, ALOHA, CULTURAL EQUITY AND MUTUAL RESPECT.

HWH COORDINATES THE HANALEI MAKAI WATCH, A PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER SUPPORT TO THE HAWAII DEPT OF LAND & NATURAL RESOURCES ENFORCEMENT OF COASTAL RESOURCE REGULATIONS. HWH IS CONDUCTING HYDRAULIC HYDROLOGOIC MODELING TO EVALUATE SOLUTIONS TO REDUCE THE IMPACTS OF FLOODING IN HANALEI. HWH IS CONDUCTING A CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION PROJECT TO DEVELOP AN ACTION PLAN FOR THE NORTH SHORE OF KAUAI. HWH IS ALSO WORKING WITH THE FISH & WILDLIFE FOUNDATION TO PROTECT WILDLIFE HABITAT FROM FLOODING. HWH PROVIDES OUTREACH & EDUCATION ABOUT WATERSHED AND MARINE RESOURCES.
