STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION IS A STUDENT VOICE ON THE CAMPUS OF THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK AT CANTON. THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION PROVIDES CAMPUS ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND ORGANIZATIONS FOR THE STUDENTS OF SUNY CANTON. STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION IS ORGANIZED FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF ADMINISTRATION AND OPERATION OF STUDENT GROUPS AT THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF NY AT CANTON. THE ORGANIZATION SERVED APPROXIMATELY 2,871 STUDENTS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING MAY 31, 2022. STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION CONSISTS OF OVER 50 EVENTS AND CLUBS.

COLLEGE ACTIVITY BOARD - THE COLLEGE ACTIVITIES BOARD IS THE STUDENT ORGANIZATION WHICH BRINGS STUDENT ACTIVITIES TO CAMPUS SUCH AS LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCES IN THE UNDERGROUND LOUNGE OR ON ROSELLE PLAZA. OTHER ACTIVITIES INCLUDE LECTURES, CONCERTS, AND VARIOUS SOCIAL GATHERINGS. CAMPUS ACTIVITIES BOARD IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, AND THEREFORE EVENTS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. FUNDING IS PROVIDED THROUGH THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION.
CLUBS - STUDENT CLUBS PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL EVENTS FOR THEIR MEMBERS. NON-MEMBERS CAN PARTICIPATE. HOWEVER, EVENTS TEND TO BE RELATED TO THE INTEREST OF THE GROUP MEMBERS. CLUBS CAN BE INTEREST, CURRICULUM OR SERVICE BASED AND NEED TO BE APPROVED BY THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION . EACH CLUB IS PROVIDED WITH FUNDING AS WELL AS THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN STUDENT GOVERNMENT. THERE ARE OVER 50 CLUBS ON CAMPUS.
CAMPUS SUPPORT ACTIVITIES - THE CAMPUS SUPPORT FUND PROVIDES ADDITIONAL PROGRAMMING FOR AREAS THAT SUPPORT STUDENTS EDUCATIONALLY AND RECREATIONALLY. FOR EXAMPLE: LIBRARY HOURS ARE ABLE TO BE EXTENDED DUE TO ADDITIONAL STUDENT WORKERS BEING HIRED TO SUPPORT. ADDITIONAL FITNESS CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS AT NO EXTRA COST.
