PLANNED PARENTHOOD OF THE NORTH COUNTRY NEW YORK (PPNCNY) IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES HIGH-QUALITY, AFFORDABLE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE THROUGHOUT CLINTON, ESSEX, FRANKLIN, JEFFERSON, LEWIS AND ST. LAWRENCE COUNTIES. PPNCNY IS LICENSED BY NEW YORK STATE ARTICLE 28 OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH LAW. PPNCNY'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY REPRODUCTIVE AND SEXUAL HEALTH CARE WITH ACCESS, EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY FOR CHOICE-NO MATTER WHAT. PPNCNY IS A PROVEN LEADER IN REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE, EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY IN THE NORTH COUNTRY. PPNCNY PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE SERVICES, INCLUDING SCREENING FOR CERVICAL AND BREAST CANCER, TESTING AND TREATMENT FOR SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES, HIV TESTING AND COUNSELING, PREGNANCY TESTS, BIRTH CONTROL METHODS AND MALE REPRODUCTIVE SERVICES.
OTHER PROGRAMS OPERATED BY PPNCNY INCLUDE: -SEXUAL ASSAULT SERVICES (SAS) WHICH OFFERS COUNSELING, EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY TO SURVIVORS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN CLINTON, FRANKLIN AND ESSEX COUNTIES. SAS PROVIDES HOTLINE SERVICES, FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL COUNSELING, SUPPORT AT THE HOSPITAL OR WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT, INFORMATION AND REFERRALS, AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. -THROUGH THE ENOUGH IS ENOUGH GRANT, PPNCNY HELPS TO COMBAT SEXUAL ASSAULT ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES. THE SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION EDUCATOR PROVIDES SEXUAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION TRAINING AND EDUCATION TO STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND STAFF ON FIVE COLLEGE CAMPUSES IN CLINTON, ESSEX, AND FRANKLIN COUNTIES.
PPNCNY DELIVERS AGE APPROPRIATE, BEST-PRACTICE, AND EVIDENCE-BASED HEALTH PROGRAMMING TO SCHOOLS, COMMUNITY GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS ACROSS THE LIFE-SPAN. PPNCNY'S COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATORS PROVIDED VITAL EDUCATION SESSIONS TO AUDIENCES THROUGH 161 EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, REACHING OVER 6,184 INDIVIDUALS. PPNCNY VISITED COLLEGE CLASSROOMS, TABLED AT COLLEGE EVENTS, PARTICIPATED IN THOSE EVENTS ADDRESSING DATING VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT ON CAMPUS, AND TOOK PART IN MANDATORY FRESHMAN ORIENTATION SESSIONS PROVIDING SAFE DATING AND SAFER SEX PROGRAMS.
