AFRICAN AID ORGANIZATION, INC. (AFAID) IS A 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION AND PUBLIC CHARITY LOCATED IN WASHINGTON, DC. OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE YOUTH WITH THE TOOLS, KNOWLEDGE AND RESOURCES TO PROTECT THEMSELVES AGAINST HIV/AIDS AND OTHER SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS, AND ALLEVIATE POVERTY.AFAID OBJECTIVE IS TO ADDRESS THE VERY FACTORS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THE SPREAD OF HIV/AIDS INFECTION. DUE TO THE EXTREME POVERTY AMONG THE YOUTH WE SERVE, PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO BASIC NEEDS, SUCH AS FOOD AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES. WE WILL CONTINUE TO HELP EDUCATE THESE CHILDREN SO THAT THEY CAN OVERCOME ILLITERACY. WE KNOW THAT TOO MANY CHILDREN LIVE IN SILENCE WITH THE HARSH REALITY OF POVERTY, HUNGER, AND HIV/AIDS AND WE WORK TO HELP TO RESTORE HOPE AND JOY TO THESE CHILDREN'S LIVES. WE WILL CONTINUE TO INVEST ALL THAT WE CAN IN THESE CHILDREN IN ORDER TO HELP BUILD A BRIGHTER FUTURE. AFAID IS FUNDED THROUGH DONATIONS FROM PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS, FOUNDATIONS, AND BUSINESSES.

AFRICAN AID ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO SPREAD HIV/AIDS PREVENTION MESSAGES AND OUTREACH SESSIONS TO CHILDREN AND OTHER YOUNG PEOPLE IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA TO REDUCE THE SPREAD OF THE EPIDEMIC. HIV/AIDS AWARENESS CLUBS CREATED IN SOME SCHOOLS ARE DOING A GREAT JOB TO INVOLVE YOUNG BOYS AND GIRLS IN OUR PREVENTION PROGRAM. AFAID TRAINS MEMBERS OF THE CLUB AND PROVIDE THEM WITH BASIC INFORMATION REGARDING HIV, AIDS, AND OTHER SEXUAL TRANSMITTED DISEASES (STDS). MEMBERS OF THE CLUBS CONNECT EASILY WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE COMMUNITIES WHEN IT COMES TO TESTING, DISCUSSING SAFER SEX BEHAVIOR, AND INCLUDING HIV PREVENTION MESSAGES IN THEIR DAILY LIVES. AS A MATTER OF FACT, AFAID AWARENESS CLUBS HAVE POSITIVE INFLUENCE ON YOUNG PEOPLE WITH WHOM THEY INTERACT EASILY.
