US FELLOWSHIP YEAR IS A SUMMER PROGRAM FOR NORTH AMERICANS IN ISRAEL, WITH FOLLOW UP PROGRAMMING THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. TWENTY-SIX SELECTED FELLOWS PARTICIPATE IN A FULLY ENDOWED FIVE AND A HALF WEEK SEMINAR IN ISRAEL TO LEARN ABOUT THEIR JUDAISM AND PLURALISM THROUGH THE LENS OF ISRAEL. IN 2021, DUE THE CONTINUING COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE SEMINAR WAS MOVED TO A U.S.LOCATION.
AMITIM FELLOWSHIP YEAR IS A FULL YEAR PROGRAM IN WHICH TWENTY ISRAELI FELLOWS ARE SELECTED TO ATTEND SEVERAL SEMINARS, INCLUDING A JOURNEY TO THE US IN DECEMBER FOR A TWO AND A HALF WEEK SEMINAR TO LEARN MORE ABOUT AMERICAN JUDAISM. IN 2021, SOME OF THE PROGRAMMING WAS DONE VIRTUALLY AND THE DECEMBER SEMINAR/TRIP TO THE U.S. WAS POSTPONED.
US AND AMITIM ALUMNI EVENTS WORK TO KEEP ALUMNI ENGAGED THROUGH LEADING PROJECTS AND VARIOUS FORMAL AND INFORMAL SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. IN 2021, DUE TO THE PANDEMIC SOME OF THE IN-PERSON EVENTS WERE REPLACED WITH VIRTUAL OPPORTUNITIES.
MIFGASHIM ARE SEMINARS HELD WHEN US FELLOWS AND ISRAELI AMITIM CONVENE TOGETHER AT TWO POINTS DURING THE YEAR. THE TWO IN PERSON EVENTS DID NOT TAKE PLACE IN 2021, DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
