SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION ("SAMHSA") - EMERGENCY CRISIS COUNSELING "PROJECT HOPE": TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL EMERGENCY MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING TO INDIVIDUALS AFFECTED BY MAJOR DISASTERS, INCLUDING THE TRAINING OF WORKERS TO PROVIDE SUCH COUNSELING. THE COVID-19 PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY HAS LEFT MANY NEW YORKERS FEELING ANXIOUS AND STRESSED. UNDER PROJECT HOPE, NEW YORK HAS BEEN CONDUCTING A NUMBER OF MENTAL HEALTH SPECIFIC RESPONSE ACTIVITIES FOCUSED ON THE ONGOING CORONAVIRUS PUBLIC EMERGENCY SINCE BECOMING A PRESIDENTIALLY DECLARED DISASTER.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION ("SAMHSA") - STATE OPIOD RESPONSE: DRUG ABUSE AND ADDICTION RESPONSE GRANT OBJECTIVES ARE TO SUPPORT EPIDEMIOLOGIC, BASIC, CLINICAL AND APPLIED RESEARCH TO DEVELOP NEW KNOWLEDGE AND APPROACHES RELATED TO THE PREVENTION, TREATMENT, ETIOLOGY AND CONSEQUENCES OF OPIOID DRUG ADDICTION.
NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH ("NIH") MENTAL HEALTH RESEARCH GRANT OBJECTIVES ARE TO INCREASE KNOWLEDGE OF BASIC BIOLOGICAL AND BEHAVORIAL PROCESSES THAT UNDERLIE MENTAL AND BEHAVORIAL DISORDERS, AND OF PROCESSES THAT CONTRIBUTE TO MAINTAINING MENTAL HEALTH; TO IMPROVE METHODS OF RESEARCH RELEVANT TO THESE DISORDERS AND TO CONDUCT RESEARCH ON MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES.
